The Internet has stop working?
If you’re making a lot of money on the internet right now, then this article is not for you to read. But otherwise, read this entirely so that you get the bigger picture what’s wrong and start making money online, very quickly.
You see, there’s an endless loop thing going on in the internet marketing niche. The endless loop is this - an ‘internet marketer’ teaches how to make money online by selling how to make money online stuff and that is how he makes money online. I know it becomes a cliché, but try to analyze what I mean by that.
There’s nothing wrong with that because it’s not cheating but it’s a vicious cycle that is actually, totally hollow.
THE BIGGEST PROBLEM IS, they make outrageous promise which in reality, that won’t happen to a Newbie because a Newbie wouldn’t be able to market in the internet marketing niche right away. I’ll tell you why - to be in the internet marketing niche, you must understand internet marketing. Secondly, you got to have your own success to convince people to buy and lastly, you need Joint Venture partners. A Newbie probably doesn’t has any of these (that’s why we use the word, Newbie.)
Yeah, you can get a sale or two by doing Adwords selling your own internet marketing course but if you really want to do a reality check, you probably sell nothing because you’ll be competing with other best-sellers when you bid for the keyword, ‘internet marketing course’.
Of course, you can bypass this process by writing a super salesletter to SELL and don’t really bother about people’s success and sell junk. That’s why you see there is plenty of garbage out there and yet they sell very well because it’s a good salesletter and they’re good at marketing to do a product launch.
So the Newbie wonders why the Internet doesn’t work, or stopped working.
That’s not true because the Internet is actually doing well, very well indeed, even in economy downturn.
The missing puzzle is getting into the ‘right’ market when a Newbie first started. I encourage anyone to go into the ‘internet marketing’ niche because it’s such a lucrative market for you to make a lot of money, but don’t do that until you really understand how internet marketing works and have success to display.
The advice here is dead simple - if you’re a Newbie, get into an easy niche market and start make your first $1,000. Forget everything else, for now. Whether it’s selling a course teaching frogs to jump higher or how to fix a smiling face, doesn’t matter - what matters is getting it RIGHT first and get it moving. Then it’s so much easier to roll out more things once you know what you need to know.
The other concern is info-overload.
You can get ‘overload’ or sick if you eat too much. That’s call over-eating. Or over-exhausted if you exercise too much.
There’s no such thing as info-overload. I mean, your stomach has only a limited space and you can just fit that much food in it or you only have limited calories to burned when exercising. Your brain doesn’t have a limit, it’s not like it’s a computer with the preset memory capacity.
I know, I know… I know what you mean by info-overload. I’m just trying to make a point that scientifically, you cannot get info-overload because there’s no real limit and you can decide how to ‘control’ your brain.
In my opinion, you will experience info-overload if you have lack of focus.
Like, why are you reading a course about making money with Google Adsense right now if you’re trying to make money online by selling an info-product?
Perhaps you don’t, but MOST NEWBIES DO. They want to learn everything.
I acknowledge the attitude of having great learning desire but if you can’t handle too many things, then eliminate the rest and just do one.
That ONE will give you result, which in this, will turn into money for you.
Don’t worry about losing out the latest ‘trend’ or hot stuff - they’re temporarily and something else will pop up again next month, okay?
Let’s move to the next part…
People fail to make money online is because they were thinking way too much about making money online.
No, I’m not asking you not to think about yourself - I’m just asking you to also think about your prospect’s interest. Why would they want to buy from you?
If you know that answer, you’re already half way to making money for yourself.
The answer should be because you’re selling VALUE instead of some stupid promise that you’ve been sold in the past by those snake oil marketers.
You see, when you start thinking about your prospects, your product offer will naturally becomes better which of course, will give you better sales conversion.
The final part that I want to touch on is building businesses.
If a Newbie can just understand that he is building a business, he would be successful. Unfortunately, he thinks the Internet is a cash register machine (see what these garbage marketers have done with their promises to honest people?) and he just needs to unlock some weird code and the Internet will spit money out of the computer to him.
Crazy, I know. But guess what - many bought into this promise.
Click a button on a software, unlimited traffic. And you just need to spend 30 bucks for that piece of software. Cool isn’t it?
You know what, such software does exist but it’s definitely not 30 bucks and you still got to do some work.
Put on your logic thinking cap - if it’s only 30 bucks, the guy who’s selling the software would probably sell you the traffic (the golden egg) than selling you the software (the golden goose) for the price of dinner for two at California Kitchen Pizza.
So that’s why people think that the Internet doesn’t ‘work’. “After a week of testing, nothing happened so I’ll throw in the towel. It’s all BS.” Thanks to so many garbage stuff on the internet, it kills honest people’s dreams. Sad.
But only if the Newbie knows he’s building a business and excited about that, he wouldn’t have given up.
I’ll tell you why he should be excited…
Never before, any ordinary people, in any part of the world, can start a real business SO FAST at such a low cost of entry.
I just set up another new internet business which is an online store and it was completed in less than a week and ranked in the search engine for the main keyword on day 7 and it has nothing to do with the internet marketing niche. (Perhaps I’ll share with you about this model in my new course next year.)
Imagine if I was to do this offline, the conventional business way… I’ll have to register for a company, find a store to rent, go through business documentations, renovate the store to fit my product, buy inventories, hire employees (at least 3), manage people, prepare promotions and so on.
If I can get everything up in 45 days, I would be thankful. And that’s not even including the marketing yet, getting people to my offline store. But the worst part is, I’ll probably spend a bare minimum of $10K to get things setup AND it’s demographic restricted where my income ceiling is capped.
So remind me again, why wouldn’t I be extremely excited about building a real online business?
In all, the Internet is working very well. Just understand what I’ve just shared with you and trust me when I say you’ll begin to focus on the right thing to make money online after this.

Most people believe the Internet doesn’t work anymore while a ‘group’ of people always known that Internet always have a space for you to make money. That’s the different between newbies and oldies.

The TRUTH. That’s what Patric shared with with us. The World Wide Web is so big that no one can imagine where the boundary is. So, for a newbie, he would be walking in the dark, approaching whatever dim light that is avaliable.
FOCUS is needed when applying internet marketing. This includes:
a. The target group – CUSTOMERS.
b. The method – ADWORDS, ADSENSE, AFFILIATE, etc.
c. The product – E-BOOK, ONLINE STORE, COMMODITY, etc.
By FOCUSSING, we should achieve the desired result. If not, we would be running around in circles.

I totally agreed with what you’ve mentioned above. To date, I’m still considering myself as Newbie despite i started venturing into making money online in year 2006. I can barely make any decent income from the internet even after investing so much into different courses and ebooks.
I guess every Newbie finds it hard to resist the temptation of trying to get as much info as possible. Whenever there is a new product claiming to make money online in a much easier way, they jump straight into that. When time goes by, they hop from one money making technique to another. Lack of focus is the killer in making money online. They wanted fast results, and give up easily if money is not seen in the first few months.
I am a real example.

Many people venture into internet marketing world mainly because IM sound easy and simple.
But when you really dive into this arena, you’ll learn the fact that online businesses are just the same with offline businesses when it comes to making money. You have to provide true value to people if you want to make money online. You can’t just selling junk online. Same as offline businesses, people won’t buy from you if you’re selling trash or something that your prospect consider ‘no value’.
Imagine if you have a business selling ice cube at north pole. Do you think you can make a bundle of cash with this business? NO because what you trying to sell has no value at all.
Same goes to online business. It really make me sick when I see people selling a bundle of ‘outdated’ resale rights & PLR products with ridiculous low price. This tactic won’t work because this is just a bundle of garbage that people don’t want even it’s free.
It’s not the product that sell but the value within the product that makes people buy.
There’s a quota by Tony Robbins, “The only way to become wealthy is add more value to people’s lives than anyone else is adding”. A business is not a tool to make more money instead it is a tool for you to provide more value to the world.

I am a newbie I hate that word because I have been trying to make my first dollar online for the last three years without success. You are right I have given a lot of people my money in hopes to finding that magic button that say “here’s your money” but it’s not that easy, I wish that I could get the help that I need to do it right maybe someday.

Yes Patrick, so many truths here even if it hurts, it is better to understand in order to move on. Although no longer can I be classed as a complete newbie there is still so much that I will need to learn and will be an ongoing learning, considering the pace the internet moves at.
This is another problem with an offline business and the problems they are experiencing at present, either an unwillingness to move with changes or a fear or lack of trust of the online world.
Offline or online the same applies, give customers better value, superior products and something they really need.

What’s so sad is that what Patric has written is what he…and countless other successful online marketers…have been telling newbies over and over again…for years and years.
Sure. There is always going to be a new batch of newbies. But so many people commenting here have been trying to make money online for quite a while…and are still making the same mistakes. Still doing the same things over and over again, but expecting different results.
Shoot…one of the last posters wrote about how he was exactly the type of person Patric was writing about…and then asked for a course he could “follow from a-to-z” to success!!!!

It simply doesn’t work that way.
Don’t you realize most, if not all, of you have already been given all the information you need to know? Need to follow? Honestly. You really have. You just have to start applying it. Learn from your mistakes. Build on your successes.
Unfortunately, what so many of you are *really* looking for is someone to tell you *exactly* what to do. Like *exactly* what product to sell and *exactly* where to get it. The *exact* sales letter you should send out…and to have it written for you. The *exact* list of people to send that sales letter to, never mind developing your own mailing list. In other words, you’re hoping to get everything done for you so that you can simply insert your PayPal button and start making tons of money.
But that’s just not going to happen.
You need to stop looking for magic bullets. No…you need to stop looking for people to walk you, step-by-step, through starting and running your own business. It’s not going to happen.
In the real world, that’s what franchises are for. And why they cost so darned much. And, no, you aren’t going to find successful franchised online businesses. (Why would you think you’d get the same level of detailed franchise instructions for an online business for only pennies, instead of tens of thousands of dollars?)
The people who keep hoping they can somehow buy a book/seminar/product that does all the work for them and automatically leads them to online success are the ones who will fail. Oh, they’ll make money for other people. But they won’t make it for themselves.
The people who realize that *they* have to take what they’ve learned and actually apply it…that *they* have to test, to make errors and have successes, to learn from both the errors and the successes, to make the necessary adjustments…are the ones who at least have a chance to succeed.
Patric can’t do it for you. Only YOU can do it for you. So, it’s not just a matter of focus. It’s a matter of accepting that no one else can…or will…do it for you.

As a newbie, it is better to go for niche that have less competition rather than go directly into those high competition niche like Internet Marketing. Make the money first to strengthen the belief, and proceed again into the next level.
I am also completely agree with your view about info overload. Lack of focus is the main factor of info overload.. That’s cool fact.
