<p>Success in business, especially in the resale rights<br />
game, comes down to one factor: Uniqueness!</p>
<p>If you want your marketing, and your business, to be<br />
successful, you have to be different!</p>
<p>To be successful in business and marketing, you have<br />
to set yourself apart!</p>
<p>You have to stick out of the crowd.</p>
<p>You have to get noticed!</p>
<p>And you can&#8217;t accomplish that by doing what everyone<br />
else is doing.</p>
<p>It&#8217;s really a &#8220;mindset&#8221; that you have to adopt.<br />
A mindset that states&#8230; &#8220;don&#8217;t care how saturated the<br />
market appears to be, I can still stick out of the<br />
crowd and differentiate myself.&#8221;</p>
<p>All I have to do is put a little thought into it&#8230;<br />
While most people will look at the competition and<br />
give up, the real entrepreneurs will laugh at it and<br />
think, &#8220;I will beat them easily&#8221; and then find ways to<br />
do just that.</p>
<p>If everybody else is selling the same product, offer<br />
your customers more for their money!</p>
<p>More value, added incentives, whatever else you can<br />
give them to make the product more appealing to them.<br />
Add a valuable bonus that no one else is giving!<br />
Say, a hot report or two that you wrote yourself,<br />
perhaps?</p>
<p>It&#8217;s always better if the bonus you&#8217;re giving is not<br />
being given by anyone else.</p>
<p>Just create your own unique reports! (Even if they&#8217;re just<br />
1 to 5 pages in length. It&#8217;s the quality that matters, not quantity.)</p>
<p>Most people get lazy and just keep cutting the price.<br />
If price is your only differentiating factor, someone will always<br />
undercut you.</p>
<p>And that&#8217;s just bad for everyone involved.</p>
<p>Including the customer, because she will attach less<br />
value to the product if she only had to pay a few<br />
bucks for it.</p>
<p>It&#8217;s just a bad way to do business.</p>
<p>&#8220;If price  is your only differentiating factor,<br />
someone will always undercut you.&#8221;</p>
<p>Offering a great price is one thing.</p>
<p>Ruining the value of the product by selling it for<br />
pennies on the dollar is just bad business.</p>
<p>A better strategy is to keep the price competitive but<br />
offer more value (instead of cutting the price too much).</p>
<p>Do that and they&#8217;ll buy from you.</p>
<p>And&#8230; if they&#8217;ve already purchased from someone else,<br />
they may get upset about your &#8216;better deal&#8217; for a bit.<br />
But guess what&#8230; the next time they think of buying a<br />
product, they&#8217;ll check YOUR offer first.</p>
<p>Because you showed them that you offer more for their<br />
money then the other resellers.</p>
<p>Here&#8217;s something interesting&#8230;</p>
<p>If you take 100 resale rights holders of any product,<br />
You&#8217;ll find that in most cases (if not all) only 3 to<br />
5% of those individuals are doing well with the product.</p>
<p>The rest of them are either doing okay, or very poorly,<br />
or they&#8217;re just not selling the product at all! (Strange,<br />
but true!)</p>
<p>Think about that for a minute&#8230;</p>
<p>That means, you&#8217;re not competing with 100 resellers<br />
anymore (as most people may have quickly assumed.<br />
Your real competition consists of only 3 to 5 people<br />
out of those 100 resellers!! That&#8217;s it!!</p>
<p>Keep in mind that this is in fact a business.</p>
<p>You&#8217;re not selling other people&#8217;s products.</p>
<p>You&#8217;re building a business that happens to involve<br />
selling other people&#8217;s products.</p>
<p>Take it seriously.</p>
<p>And give it the attention, energy and respect that a<br />
real business deserves, because it is a real business.<br />
Don&#8217;t treat it like a hobby or sparetime activity.</p>
<p>Fortunes are being made by people using resale rights<br />
and there&#8217;s no reason why you can&#8217;t be one of those<br />
people.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>If you&#8217;re new to my subscription and wondering what is a &#8220;Sunday Email&#8221;, it&#8217;s an email full of my rants, personal tips and opinions on marketing especially in the &#8220;internet marketing&#8221; niche. <p>You know&#8211; sometimes my Sunday Emails can be harsh. Cuts through like a ninja&#8217;s blade. But come on, they&#8217;re my rants. If I want to keep everyone happy and write about the colorful rainbow, birds chirping, flowers blooming, etc then I should just opens up a nursery home and take care of children.</p>
<p>So if you can relate to what I wrote when reading it&#8211; good because I know it had just served the purpose of helping people.</p>
<p><strong>Re: Video Salespage Works?</strong></p>
<p>Have seen those webpage that uses videos purely to sell their products?</p>
<p>I know many marketers are getting huge sales by using that strategy. And if they read what I&#8217;m going to say, they&#8217;ll say this to me, &#8220;I don&#8217;t care because I&#8217;m laughing all the way to the bank with my sales, dude!&#8221;</p>
<p>Well, good on ya then.</p>
<p>But I think those who use that strategy is leaving money on the table. Why? Because not everyone appreciates watching a video and would want to waste their time watching a sales pitch!</p>
<p>Yeah… I know what&#8217;s going into your mind:</p>
<p><em>&#8220;If they&#8217;re not willing to watch, they&#8217;re probably not potential buyers anyway.&#8221;</em></p>
<p>That&#8217;s the single biggest mistake a marketer can do &#8211; relying on assumptions.</p>
<p>Just think &#8211; do you want to &#8216;risk&#8217; throwing away your valuable 30 minutes and find out at the end that the offer (or the investment) is not right for you?</p>
<p>Dude, I rather sort my physical junk mails then wasting my time watching a sales pitch video. (By the way, I actually sort my junk mails while letting the video to play till the end <img src='http://www.patricchan.com/website/wp-includes/images/smilies/icon_smile.gif' alt=':-)' class='wp-smiley' title="Sunday Email #40 " /> ).</p>
<p>Secondly, there are still many people out there running on slow internet connections so literally, the marketer who just use video has just wipe off ALL of their prospects. Might as well say, &#8220;I don’t want you as my customer because you have slow internet connection.&#8221; LOL. What kind of crazy message is that for a marketing guy?</p>
<p>But I&#8217;ve seen sharper marketers do it this way &#8211; if the visitor exit, a salesletter comes up with an <a href="http://www.patricrecommends.com/exitoffer" target="_blank">unblockable pop up</a>.</p>
<p>That&#8217;s marketing with a brain, not with assumption.</p>
<p>Don&#8217;t get me wrong &#8211; use video, it rocks. I love it and I use it. But think of your prospects too when you&#8217;re using that (if you like to make more money.)</p>
<p><strong>Re: I Don&#8217;t Buy &#8220;Hot&#8221; Products In The Market</strong></p>
<p>Actually, I do buy but I just don&#8217;t buy &#8216;hot&#8217; products that are affordable and sold in thousands of copies. Let me tell you why:</p>
<p>Imagine there&#8217;s a new course on how to get JV Partners to promote your latest gizmo by using a very easy-to-implement tactic that everyone can do if they just know this &#8217;secret&#8217;. You read and you were so excited because it sounds full-proof. Bzzz&#8230; wrong, bucko. 5,000 other people think the same too and your JV Partner is going to be swarmed with the same approach tactic. Instead of becoming effective, it backfires because you lack of originality and you are now viewed as &#8216;just one of them&#8217;.</p>
<p>Yeah, yeah&#8230; I hear you, you&#8217;re about to say this to me, &#8220;But the market is so big and there are plenty of niches out there! You&#8217;re thinking small, Patric.&#8221;</p>
<p>RIGHT. That’s the same piece of advice I give to people who do niche marketing. But guess what, most of these &#8216;marketers&#8217; are circling in circles&#8230; most of them just promote in the same &#8216;internet marketing&#8217; niche. Heck, they just promoting each other to sell more! Why? Because the courses released are mostly about making money in the internet marketing niche. And here&#8217;s the fact &#8211; if you take away most of the gurus&#8217; lists and brand, they would be struggling to make even $1K a month online.</p>
<p>Now, even if you apply it in other niches, you&#8217;re going to bump into some other fellas and that&#8217;s the fact. But that&#8217;s not bad at all because you&#8217;ll still be able to apply that tactic to get good result. The hint here is this &#8211; if you&#8217;re going to buy another hot product, use it in some obscurer niche. Then you&#8217;ll have a home run winner.<br />
Conclusion? Think smart&#8230;. stop thinking like a herd mentality.</p>
<p>*BUT* if the product is not the latest fad but based on real marketing principle, then it doesn’t matter how many people are using it. That&#8217;s the different from learning a tactic and a strategy.</p>
<p>Here&#8217;s the difference:</p>
<p>Strategy: Follow others to get Twitter followers through the concept of reciprocation.<br />
Tactic: Use a software to follow others to get followers.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>I pay close attention to any techniques that can lower my cost on advertisements, especially pay-per-click (PPC) traffic like Google Adwords.</p>
<p>For instance, I&#8217;ll do what I can to lower my PPC cost from 0.05 cents to 0.03 cents per click.</p>
<p>When I was showing a technique to lower the bid price in Google Adwords in a workshop I&#8217;ve conducted last time, I can see that one of the attendees sitting wasn’t impressed at all.</p>
<p>So I asked him why.</p>
<p>He immediately responded, &#8220;I don&#8217;t see how saving 2 cents can make me richer.&#8221;</p>
<p>&#8220;It&#8217;s just not worth doing that Patric, I would rather spend my time testing other traffic methods.&#8221;</p>
<p>I paused for a few second and smiled. As a matter of fact, I do agree with him for SEEING THAT ANGLE –saving the measly 2 cents is pointless.</p>
<p>That&#8217;s provided if you just spend $10 to advertise. But if you’re someone spending $500 a day, you&#8217;re looking at some major savings.</p>
<p>**BUT**&#8230; that&#8217;s still NOT the point. That&#8217;s the obvious reason but not what I&#8217;m looking for.</p>
<p>You see, it&#8217;s not about saving.</p>
<p>It&#8217;s about growing your business tremendously.</p>
<p>If you&#8217;re paying 0.05 cents per click, it means that with a budget of $30 a day, you can get 600 visitors.</p>
<p>Simple math.</p>
<p>And assuming that your product sells for $10 and you&#8217;re getting 3% conversion.</p>
<p>So basically, you&#8217;ll make $180 ($10 x 3% x 600 visitors) from $30 advertisement spent.</p>
<p>$180 revenue.</p>
<p>Now, let&#8217;s say you&#8217;re able to lower your PPC cost to only 0.03 cents – it means you&#8217;re now driving 1,000 visitors with the same amount of $30 advertisement budget.</p>
<p>Your &#8216;new&#8217; income will be:</p>
<p>1,000 visitors x 3% x $10 = $300.</p>
<p>Basically, if you&#8217;re just able to just lower your PPC cost by 0.02 cents, you&#8217;ve increased your business by 40% profit!</p>
<p>Smart business owners are not concern about saving because it’ll not make them richer.</p>
<p>Saving the $12 ($30 budget &#8211; $0.03 x 600 visitors) is not profitable &#8211; at all.</p>
<p>You&#8217;re making $120 EXTRA, not saving $12. What smart business owners see is getting MORE traffic for the SAME amount of advertisement spent. Again, all simple mathematics to get the numbers right and you&#8217;ll break the bank.</p>
<p>Now, if you&#8217;re paying 0.10 cent per click and you have a way to reduce it to 0.01 cent instead, it means you&#8217;ve now automatically grow your business 10 times fold. Congrats.</p>
<p>From $10,000 a year to $100,000. And all it takes is a small &#8216;adjustment&#8217; like this, no rocket science.</p>

<p><strong>Starbucks 10 Seconds Rule</strong><br />

So let&#8217;s say you ordered a latte but somehow, he got delayed to mix the milk with the coffee. Bzzz, time&#8217;s up. After 10 seconds, that coffee cannot be used anymore.</p>
<p>I believe this is one of the reasons why Starbucks coffee brewed is always fresh and it&#8217;s maintained that way because they have a system. Yeah, the 10 seconds system. If you don&#8217;t want to trade time for money, then you need to have a system or use someone else that is already proven to work.</p>
<p><strong>Tai Chi Movement</strong></p>
<p>I&#8217;ve started learning Tai Chi martial arts lately. One of the techniques I’ve learned is this&#8211; no matter how hard you grab my hand, with the movement of my body, I will be able to break free easily. The reason is because I use leverage combined with a specific technique. When running your internet business, you MUST use the leverages that are available in front of you&#8211; you can either waste hours to send out emails manually or use an autoresponder to send automatically. Leverage can do more than that&#8211; Even if you&#8217;re working at home alone, you can appear to be a million dollar company.</p>
<p>And just like Tai Chi, you got to apply the right techniques at the right time. Then you&#8217;ll have a winner.</p>
<p><strong>Xbox 360 – Halo 3</strong></p>
<p>If you have no clue what’s Halo 3, it&#8217;s a very well-known video game and you can check out their site at www.halo3.com. Once I started playing it, I couldn&#8217;t stop because it is very addictive mainly because I want to know &#8220;what&#8217;s next&#8221; after completing a level. Try playing it and you&#8217;ll agree with me later on.</p>
<p>There&#8217;s a very powerful marketing lesson to learn from it- the only way how you can get your prospect to read your salesletter or marketing messages 100% is to make it &#8216;addictive&#8217;&#8211; make your reader want to know more about your product by creating a sequence of &#8220;what&#8217;s next&#8221;. This should be applied to product launches as well.</p>
<p><strong>What A Baby Wants</strong></p>
<p>My brother&#8217;s baby is 9 months old now. One thing I realize about babies- they know what they want and they&#8217;ll do what they can to get it! That&#8217;s the ultimate focus.</p>
<p>Once you found out what you want to do online, stay focus. Or if you&#8217;re planning to learn a new business, then complete it 100%. I mean, did you see that a baby will ultimate gets what he/she wants with the intense focus? (smile)</p>
<p><strong>Shooting Hoops Is Easy </strong></p>
<p>Last week, I was playing basketball alone in my court, shooting the hoops. It was easy but after 30 minutes, it gets really boring because there&#8217;s no competition. When someone&#8217;s blocking me to shoot, it&#8217;ll get MORE difficult and there&#8217;s where the fun begins. Conclusion, games or sports are not fun if there are no challenges.</p>
<p>I used to whine when I&#8217;m facing obstacles for my internet businesses but when I start taking the metaphor of playing a game, I’m no longer that frustrated anymore. If you can treat doing business like playing a game, will you see things differently now?</p>
<p>You might think that this is like lying to yourself but if you just try it out, you&#8217;ll soon realized that you&#8217;re less stressful and better results will start to appear with a healthier mind. Look&#8211; whether you&#8217;re going to use the metaphor or not, you are STILL going to face those obstacles. They&#8217;re unavoidable. So why not make the best out of it since there&#8217;s nothing to lose.</p>
