3. How To Check Trademark. Sometimes, when you’re choosing a name for your book or product, you’re concern about trademark issues. Also, if you’re into buying domain names, I would suggest you to avoid trademark names so that you don’t get into trouble. But how do you check trademark? 4. Add Paypal Customers Into A Customer List Automatically. We all know it’s crucial to collect the email addresses of our customers. The fact is, your customer will likely buy from you again if they’re satisfied or happy with their initial purchases. When using Paypal to collect payment, normally, we’ll need to use a third party software to integrate them into a mailing list. Good news is, Aweber has introduce a new app to integrate Paypal with autoresponder. It’s a free app for Aweber’s users. Read the news here.

5. Free Adsense training. I’ve been making money from Adsense since 2004 and I’ve never given up on this income channel till this day. Although I’m no longer collecting 5-figure check from Adsense like I used to, it’s still business.

If you can get traffic to your website and use some common sense on how to display your ads, you could already be making money with it. There are many Adsense courses out there but frankly, don’t waste your money buying any courses about Adsense “optimization”. Why? Because I’ve found channel in Youtube that is dedicated to provide free Adsense training for you! Why listen to marketers when Google (the owner of Adsense) is teaching you for free and real Adsense publishers who are making money are sharing their tips? Sunday Email #55 – Happy Holidays and 5 of My Opinions

I like to start off by wishing you Happy Holidays and if you’re celebrating Christmas, wishing you a very wonderful Merry Christmas.

Today’s Sunday Email is not going to be of much rants (unlike my past 54 Sunday Emails), but more towards of what I like to share about attaining more success with internet marketing and online businesses.

Here are 5 of them for your leisure reading:

Be Innovative (Or Perish) – It’s actually easy to make lots of money online, especially in the internet marketing niche. Here are the two mistakes of newbies when they try to penetrate the internet marketing niche:

i . They come up with another “old” product idea. An old product idea is like a course teaching about product creation or blogging. Those are nothing new at all and there are plenty of similar courses out there.

ii. They are being creative. There’s nothing wrong for being creative but don’t expect it to be a trend setter if you’re a newbie without strong influence in the marketplace. Secondly, if it’s too new, people might not “get it” or ready to test it out.

Be innovative. Just see what are quite successful and improve upon them. In fact, you can just spot them in Clickbank.com directly, it’s really a no-brainer.

ii. Know less, do more. Most people are unaware of this, but I’ve been exploring the domain name opportunity for the past several months. In fact, until now, it’s still a new game for me. But here’s the thing – the more I know, it seems like it’s ‘harder’ for me to make money with domains because I’m so overwhelmed with too many resources and options. THERE ARE A LOT OF THINGS TO LEARN ABOUT DOMAINS. Here’s the interesting part – I’ve started selling domains successfully when I’m doing nothing fancy, as simple as just putting it in Sedo.com. Once sold, buy more domains. The point is, sometimes, you just need to know less and do more of what you already knew. iii. Need A Team. After spending about 18 months with Robert Allen, I’ve learned a lot of success lessons from him, directly and indirectly. One of the things that I’ve noticed about Robert is, he is a master of creating a “dream” team, in fact, a talented team. Be willing to share your piece of cake and you’ll get a good team to be with you. iv. Asian Market. Apparently, for the past 12 months, I’ve seen an encouraging rise of customers and clients from Asia market – for my online product sales. Doesn’t matter if you’re an Asian or a Caucasian, I would suggest you to not leave out the Asia market, especially in 2012. I’m predicting that it’s going to boom further, much bigger. China would be a little bit too hard to penetrate because it’s an eco-system of its own but there’s a huge market for Singapore and Malaysia. Not to leave out Japan, but with Japan, you probably need your stuff to be in Japanese.

v. Take A Risk. You see, I’ve taught thousands of people to make money online and to start internet businesses. I’m not pointing this fact out to be ego or whatsoever, but to lead to this simple fact – most of them who achieved success are those who are willing to take risks. For instance, risk of losing other things (mainly time and money). Take the iconic leader, Steve Jobs as a brilliant example – I heard his salary as the CEO of Apple is only $1. Do you think he’s going to achieve success with Apple when his bank account is going to depend solely on his performance? Now, that’s “risky”. But then, that’s what leaders do – they take risk so that their reward in return is gigantic.

I hope some of these so-called “word of wisdom” could be handy to you in anyway for your success in 2012. Whether it does or not, it is my sincere wish that you’ll experience greater success next year and years to come.

Re: Why People Just Can’t Make It

You can easily “write” an ebook and start selling it online (or maybe put it on Amazon Kindle)… even if you’re not an expert for that topic.

It’s relatively an easy process, the method is simple – pick up 5-6 books about that particular topic and read all of them. By the time you’ve completed reading, you would probably know a little bit of that topic. Then come up with your own words and summaries of what you’ve learned and the next thing you know, you’ll have a “book” in you.

I mean, if you read a book about persuasion techniques, you’ll find almost the same content in another persuasion technique book.

Same thing with parenting and relationship information – most of the advice are the same but they’re just being explained (or taught) differently.

Of course, there will be times when you’ll discover novel content about persuasion or relationship or parenting in a book but my point here is, you can create your own information product easily with some basic research.

And everybody knows that having your own information product is the ULTIMATE key for long-term internet marketing success. I mean, just look at a dude who sells a course about how to make money from Facebook – isn’t the WAY how he’s making money is none other than selling HIS information product to you? I rest my case.

What’s wrong with most people who are trying to make long-term money online is they know how to make money online (which is to create and sell their own information products) but they are not doing that because product creation is a lot of work.

Do you know what I think is the most important skill of internet marketing that can literally guarantees you to make money?

Be really good at copywriting. Heck, if you can do that, you don’t even need traffic.

Why? Well, if you can increase conversion (assuming you’re a really good copywriter), you can just approach any guy or gal online who has an existing product with traffic and say…

“Let me increase the sales conversion of your salesletter and for any new sales increment, we’ll split 50/50. ”

Or you can write for marketers and get paid handsomely.

The problem? To become a GOOD copywriter requires a lot of hard work and it doesn’t happens overnight.

So people try to find shortcuts – they try to figure out how to make money from Black Friday, looking for a “better” product review website software sold in Clickbank, searching for Facebook loopholes and the list goes on. That’s perfect but don’t expect these to give you a BUSINESS. They’re just short-term opportunities.

What is the message of my rant here?

You can never go wrong on making money online by creating your own information product and learn how to write a good copy (or record a video) that gets people wanting to buy. THESE ARE THE 2 THINGS YOU NEED TO MASTER. What about traffic? Well, if you have a product and know it’ll convert, just use money to buy traffic!

Last but not least, don’t get my message wrongly – do continue to try to make money from Facebook or review sites and so on because they can be lucrative but make sure that you’re ALSO taking care of your future by creating your own information product.

Re: What I’ve Learn About Internet Marketing

I just got back from watching Captain America: The First Avenger. Right now, I’m so looking forward to watch The Avengers movie!

Okay, BACK to internet marketing. I’ve realized that I’ve been in the internet marketing niche for almost a decade now… that’s 10 years straight. So today, I would like to take the time to share with you some short lessons I’ve learn about this business. And no, I’m not going to talk about the strategies I’ve learn that are critical for your business – build a list, create your own product, master the skill of getting traffic, etc. These are no brainers, you should already know them.

So here some lessons I can think of…

Keep Good People - Along the way, you’re going to know a lot of people in this business. And when I mean “people”, I’m referring to *anyone* – your students, customers, JV partners, outsource guys, etc.

If you train 10 people to achieve internet marketing success, maybe only 1-2 of them will come back to you to say, “thank you”.

You can have 10 JV partners but most of them will not be “reliable” – they’ll be nice with you when they need your help to promote their stuff or something. But 1-2 of them will ALWAYS be there for you, your trusted JV partners.

In the beginning, many outsource workers would do anything to get jobs from you and when they’re ‘successful’, they’ll forget who was the person who gave them their first few outsource projects to start their freelance businesses. At the same time, there will be a few of them who will always remember you and will make time to take up your jobs even if they’ll make less money.

When you found these small group of good people, you should do your best to strengthen your relationship with them. They are good people.

You Got to Change and Adapt – If you have been around, you would have noticed that Internet Marketing has ‘evolved’ a lot since the early days. Yeah, the PRINCIPLES of internet marketing are still the same (they’ll always be) but the demand from the market and prospects have changed drastically and will continue to change.

What do I mean by change? From your website design to how you do deals. From product pricing to connecting with your customers. *EVERYTHING* dude.

Earn Less But Makes More – There are just way too many opportunities on the internet for you to tap. You would make more money by working with partners or hiring other talents. Although you’ll earn less from each opportunity (since you’re ‘sharing’ your profit) but ultimately, you’ll make more because you will have more vehicles going on for you.

I mean, wake up. Affiliate marketing ALONE would probably have 20 business models you can pick. What about making money from social media, creating and selling your own products, product drop-shipping and so on? Are you going to leave out all of the opportunities? I hope not.

There Will Always Be Prospects - In my opinion, Internet Marketing niche will never “dry out”. No matter how much the market is being hammered with offers (including hype up s*^t stuff), there will always be customers. If this is not true, you wouldn’t see so many new Clickbank products continue to be released into this market and generated 6, 7 figures in sales. At the same time, there will always be the newbies market to be served. So don’t worry too much about competitors, the market is ENOUGH for everyone.

Be Careful of Lies - I’m not sure whether you’ve seen these kinds of messages before…

Marketer claims to ‘retire’ and come back again after few months with bigger promotions.

Marketer claims to make huge incomes with Clickbank and display all kinds of income screenshots – to the extend, sometimes, it even insulted our intelligence.

Marketers claim that the *latest* product being promoted is the best product but apparently, that marketer said too the same for last week’s product.

Marketer claims that Law of Attraction is the reason why he’s hugely successful with internet marketing and incidentally, he has a Law of Attraction course to ffer. Nah, this didn’t happen – I just make it up.

Keep in mind that the lies are not just for the prospects – this also include empty promises from JV partners for reciprocal promotion or paying out commission. One piece of advice… be smart when you’re dealing with “partners”.

I guess these are 5 of them that I can think of right now, can’t think much, I’ve just got back from the movie. Maybe I’ll share more in the upcoming Sunday Emails.

You know– sometimes my Sunday Emails can be harsh. Cuts through like a ninja’s blade. But come on, they’re my rants. If I want to keep everyone happy and write about the colorful rainbow, birds chirping, flowers blooming, etc then I should just opens up a nursery home and take care of children.

Last weekend, I think I’ve shared some valuable tips on how to make money online in our seminar, Multiple Streams of Income In A Flash. These include the technique on how to make $100K a year by working just a day a month, how to make money with flippa.com and the secret on how to build a mailing list with newsletter advertising from www.direzines.com.

We have over 200 attendees – ranging from newbies to experienced marketers who are already making money online. Some of the questions I’ve gotten were:

How do I get rank in Google on page #1?

How do I get a lot of paid members for my monthly membership?

How do I get Joint Venture Partners to promote my product now?

How do I get instant traffic?

Here are the answers:

“How do I get rank in Google on page #1?”

You spend a lot of time on keyword research, build a search-engine friendly website with keyword optimized content and get backlinks like crazy every day. Continue to do that diligently and the ‘magic’ can happen.

“How do I get a lot of paid members to my monthly membership?”

Start building your mailing list first, right now. Then convert your mailing list to paid members by over-delivering your content.

“How do I get Joint Venture Partners to promote my product now?”

Build a relationship first, only then send your JV proposal and make sure that your proposal is very attractive.

“How do I get instant traffic?”

Well, buy traffic with Google Adwords or paid advertising from www.direzines.com lists.

Which of course, these aren’t the answers that people want to hear (although those are the RIGHT solutions) – simply because, the truth is, it cost MONEY OR TIME to make internet marketing works.

What people did not realize is… these solutions are ALREADY saving you money and time.

If there’s another ‘secret’ to internet marketing secret, then it’s this:

Small success is better than no success.

You see, many people are still living in their dreams that ONE DAY, one fine day; they are going to make a million from the internet magically. Could be that they wrote a super amazing ebook that sells for $20 and sold 50,000 copies or founded another Twitter or something. Could happen, who knows. The problem is, they want this BIG success but haven’t even mastered the basic stuff yet. This is like saying, I want to be Michael Jordan (during his basketball peak days) but I still don’t know how to play basketball yet. For those who know Michael Jordan’s bio, they’ll know that Michael started with ‘small’ success before he became extremely good. So does Bruce Lee. Or Robert Kiyosaki with his Rich Dad, Poor Dad best-seller hit. Heck, so does EVERYONE, including internet marketers.

Because there are so many stories of how ordinary people strike fortunes online, people started to think that the Internet is an ATM machine. On top of that, all of those hype courses just add more fuel to this dream.

As weird as it sounds, at the same time, the Internet IS a form of an ATM machine. Like, if you build a list and add value to it all of the time, well, it’s a form of ATM machine, isn’t it?

But where does the money from the ATM machine comes from? It’s the money you’ve put in (or the interest you’ve gotten from your money). The point is, you got to work to put the money in it.

Start by putting little. You’ll wake up one day, astonish of what you’ve accomplished after a period of time.

Alright, I’m going to go watch the Social Network now, wanted to know how much effort was put in to build Facebook.

Happy New Year and may you achieve great success in 2011 – wealth, health and relationship.

So you want to get it right this time in 2011?

No more messing around – you’re set to start an internet business and make money online. Cool.

You know what, everybody thinks the same too and I hope you DIDN’T have the same goal last year because if you did, you’ve just failed in 2010.

There are 3 things you need to master if you truly want to achieve success on the internet, M-P-S:

1. (M) Mindset

Honestly, I think most people in the world don’t get this, especially those in the internet marketing world. Really. They think mindset game is just some hocus-pocus positive thinking stuff and they’re just looking for the magic button to press. Yeah, there are some internet marketers out there who become rich without reading personal improvement books, listen to success audios or attend seminars – but they DO HAVE THE SUCCESS MINDSET. Don’t you think mastering persistency, overcoming procrastination, creating self-confident and so on are not related to success mindset? Put it this way, having the desire to achieve success or to become successful IS related to mindset.

2. (P) Platform

You can be all fired to achieve success but that’s not going to happen if you don’t know or don’t have the vehicle. I learn from Robert Allen that there 4 great vehicles you can use – real estate, stocks, internet and business. My pick is the Internet (and I guess you’re the same too). Then make sure you immerse yourself to know as much as you can about internet marketing.

3. (S) Strategy

Choosing and knowing what platform that you want to use will make you become like one of the many millions of people out there. Don’t. You need Strategy. Strategy in this context is about having a step-by-step plan and knowing how to execute the steps that will lead you to achieve success online. Where do you get a Strategy? Easy. From people who have already achieved success – it could be from the books, audios, seminars, etc of these people or as simply from knowing them as friends. Especially in our Internet Marketing world, there are countless of courses out there to teach you the Strategy.

With that taken care of… it leads me to another question, what else can you do to ensure success? You have to determine this for 2011:

Who Are You Learning From

Let’s be honest – there are hundreds of ‘gurus’ and teachers out there teaching about making money online. Heck, “gurus” who hardly make any money online are doing that to make money too! So who are you learning from? If your answer is going to be ‘everyone’, then I would guess that you must be an advance marketer. Otherwise, you’ve just chosen the wrong option that will lead you to nowhere. The thing that annoys me the most is a guy come to me a said, “But Mr. Guru A said you cannot do this and it should be this way and…”. Well, if you think he’s so good, learn from him – don’t waste your time learning from me then. I’m not in the business of proving myself, I’m in the business of teaching my students how to make money online.

If you just learn from one that has proof of success, then it’s easy to follow and more importantly, you can continue to learn from him/her. Of course if you ask me who you should learn from, the answer’s going to be biased and the answer would be me.

What Is Your Sub-Platform

I talk about choosing your platform earlier. Right now, you have to decide what is the sub-platform you’re going to use to make money online – there are just so many ways. You can make money online with eBay, internet marketing affiliate program, Adsense, blogging, Clickbank, niche products, Amazon, niche marketing, ebooks, website flipping, CPA and so on. Once you know that, then it’s easy for you to plan out the steps to get there and of course, to select the right mentor to guide you.

Are You Removing All Of The Noise

Every day, there will be a new idea or software to make money online. They’ll look awesome and perhaps, they are awesome. The problem is, you won’t be able to implement all of them so the best way to stay focus is NOT to know about them. I know, it sounds like an extreme move and you might be worried that you’re missing out something good or not staying updated. Trust me, if it’s really that good, you’ll hear it somehow. YOU NEED TO BE VERY FOCUSED.

In this week’s Sunday Email, I want to share with you what I’m currently doing and some insights related to internet marketing and business.

Re: My Latest JV Partner – A Bank

I’ve partnered with a bank (no, not Clickbank, “blogging to the bank” but a real financial bank) to promote my internet marketing business.

This is a form of “local business”. I’ve seen a lot of marketers teaching about how to make money with local businesses but most of them are a pile of crap and I bet that they never make (or make big) money from local businesses before. I think I’ve rant this in the past, in Sunday Email #43… extracted from it:

Then everybody was rushing to ‘local business’ opportunity, saying how EASY it is to make money by selling to local businesses instead.

Here’s the weird part – it’s like saying this, “Oh, it’s fine if you can’t make money online dude. Just go offline because there will be suckers who might buy your idea and pay you lots of bucks to do stuff that you can’t even do it for yourself. High five!”

Let’s say if the first statement is acceptable, but there’s a second obstacle – it is not easy to get local business. Honestly, no one’s going to pay you $2K for doing stuff that do not work. Business owners are not stupid and you know what, most of them are much more experienced than you when it comes to business building. To be frank, I doubt those who taught ‘local business’ actually do local business. If you’re wondering how I know how complex local business marketing is, it’s simply because I have another company that do this stuff where we run Adwords for clients, develop CMS websites, etc.

Today, I want to give a different perspective. Local business doesn’t means that you have to sell internet marketing/search engine marketing services to small businesses or corporations – there’s a huge consumer market in where you live. Let’s say you know how to sell an ebook or make money from Clickbank.com, do you think your neighbor knows about that too? Probably not.

Do you think your neighbor would want to know your ‘secret’? Probably yes.

I’ve seen marketers making a lot of money with seminars and speaking on stage as speakers selling stuff that they don’t even use. These are the ‘smart’ marketers who are selling the “shovels”.

Maybe you’re not cut to be a speaker and can’t organize a seminar. But I guess you can still do small classes right?

I’m my previous course, The Local Niche Secrets, I’ve shared 36 local internet businesses you can do. For instance, you can setup a website where the locals can look for dates. Your website can help them to be matched for each other and you can get paid finder’s fee. Like this site, lunchactually.com – I happened to know about the website because its founder was in our seminar. It’s ‘local’ and have local dating programs. I think it’s brilliant to differentiate itself from match.com and other generic dating sites.

Proven Way To Get More Sales

I’m referring to getting more sales whenever I mail out to my mailing list. What I’m going to tell you is going to sound really ironic because you’re my subscriber and I’m mailing to you all the time.

Here’s an old adage you’ve heard in marketing, “give more value”.

Recently, I’ve been sending real content and valuable products to my list (apparently, that means you) and the response increased. When I send out promotion to them (again, that means promoting to you), I get more sales, making more money (meaning, you buy more).

Honestly, I think it wasn’t just the content that makes the sale. It was ‘earning the right’ to sell.

If you’re not getting good sales when you’re promoting to your list, then I guess they don’t think you deserve to sell. Sorry.

Secondly, I promote. I’m sure many other marketers out there give good content too but they don’t make good income.

They lack of something – they don’t ask for the sale.

Put it this way bluntly, if you don’t sell, why do you build a list anyway? Don’t tell me you just want to help and if that’s really the truth, I respect that but I think there are plenty of ways you can help the world other than spending the time with a mailing list.

If you’re scared to sell because you don’t want to upset your subscriber, you have a mindset block dude.

What Else I’m Doing…

Creating more good content. Yeah, I know it sounds really cheesy. But you know what – I have you reading my stuff here is mainly because of content. You buy my stuff because you want good content. See my point?

At the same time, I’m spending the time to give more content to my Chan Do Internet Success System customers. Why? Isn’t it obvious? More content = more business growth.

I think the teaching of “content attracts business” is more true than ever, especially with so many scammers out there. The marketer who has the real content will ultimately remain in this business and have the lion’s share.

If you create lousy content and people bought it, it’ll just be a matter of time before your name is spread in the world wide web (aka The Internet) as rotten apples.

On another side of the coin, YOU WILL GET BAD REVIEW but the question is, do you have more good reviews or bad reviews?

I’ve learned from Mark Joyner, if you don’t have bad reviews, it means that you’re not as successful as you think because you haven’t gotten a lot of customers yet. Did I pick that up from Mark? Can remember, but I’m sure I’ve learn several good business lessons from him directly and indirectly.

I started writing the “Sunday Emails” in 2006 and today, I would like to share with you “Sunday Email #3″ that was published back on SUNDAY, OCTOBER 15th, 2006 – from my heart. It was originally posted on my old blog and it tells the real story of my life when I first started internet marketing. If you like to see the previous comments, click here. Sunday Email – Part 3

I can still remember my dad said…

“Why don’t he gets a real job?”

He was referring to me at that time. It was
year 2003 when I was “self-employed” — doing
my own stuff which my dad doesn’t really
have a clue what EXACTLY I’m doing.

“Do you know what he’s doing?” Asked
my dad to my mum.

Mum doesn’t have much clue as well but
she believes in me. More of that later on.

You see, I can’t blame Dad to think like that
at all. Dad’s been driving taxi for over
10 years now.

He’s a hard-working blue collar worker – Wakes
up in the morning, have a good breakfast (Butter
and bread) at home and off he goes driving to
bring back the money for the family. Every
single day he works… 7 days a week. There’s
no such thing as an off day unless the family
is having some sort of outing or, if he’s sick.
And if he felt sick, he really does.

Driving taxi may looks easy to most people. I
mean, how tough could be to stay focus on the
road with all of the senses God given?

But have you try driving for 8 hours a day…
365 days — multiply that by 10 years?

And you don’t get to meet nice passengers
everyday, my friend.

I respect my Dad. I just don’t know how
to tell him that I love him.

Guess you can tell… Dad’s income is
hard-earned money. Man, the sacrifices he
have done for the family, I don’t think words
alone can describe them.

Each trip, he’ll earn a few bucks. He’ll have
to collect those to reach a few thousands a
month so that he can provide his family a
better life, so to speak. And Dad’s a
frugal person too. Not because he is a
cheapskate, but because money was not easily
accumulated by him.

I mean, if you start to earn a few dollars
each time you completed a task, I bet that
you’ll see money differently. I know I would.

Like any parents, I think Dad’s ideal hope
was that his children will have good education
and end up with a good job. I mean, career.

I get good education at school, no doubt about
that. But unfortunately, I wasn’t cut to be
one of those smart kids.

Smart kids in school will give a kind of look …
You know, the look that goes,

“Look at that bummer. Wonder what he’s gonna
end up doing after the school days.”

I flunked.

I was not accepted to go to any public Universities
to further my education because of my low grades.
Dreams shattered into pieces.

The next choice was private college.

But if you were me… will you take your Dad’s
hard-earned money gained from driving in the hot sun
to pay the darn college fee?

That’s tough.

Mum wanted to give me her life saving if I need
money to go for college. She’s a housewife and
doesn’t have an income.

Forget it. That’s even worse.

So I have to work – But the problem is, I can’t
get a good job because I’m not qualifed, academically.

You see, in order for me to be qualified for most
of the jobs that I want, I wouldn’t be able to
pass the first stage because most companies will
look at the damn paper first to evaluate me. No
diploma or degree. Not even a certificate.
Better luck next time, bucko.

You can tell that getting a job wasn’t easy then.

So I end up as a salesperson. I get paid when I sell.

That’s it.

The harder I sell, the more money I’ll make.

I ended up becoming a very HARDWORKING person
for money. Well, that’s good and bad depending on
which angle you’re looking at.

That’s my JOB.

To cut the story short, I was in the sales line
for almost two years before I stepped out to do my
own stuff. The products I’ve sold ranges from
door-to-door greeting cards to electronic components
for corporate clients.

Then one fine day, I felt like quiting my job.

I’ve had it.

It’ll take at least “10 Sunday Emails” to write how
in the world I end up doing my own stuff.

In a nutshell, I started doing my own entrepreneurial
stuff, alone.

The only thing backing me up that time was… me.

Don’t laugh when I say this — I just have this strong
desire to achieve more in life. If you read this post
completely, I’ll tell you the reason, ok? So stay
with me.

Imagine, being alone and running like a madman
to make money. You know, when you’re over optimistic,
it’s just ain’t ‘healthy’. Don’t you feel that the
enviroment and community somehow act to ‘help’ you
to become normal and not to be successful? I know
it’s strange but try talking to your friends that
you want to make money from the internet soon.

Mum and Dad weren’t all excited. I mean, how could
they be?

My relationship with Dad wasn’t all colorful for
a long period of time since the day I quited my
“good” job. I think, he was dissapointed and
confused of how stupid I was. And I can see his
point now, but not at that time. I was slightly
dissapointed with him for not standing on my side.

Even my ex-girlfriend’s parents were surprised
at that time. They think their daughter’s future
is going to be a deep struggle coz I don’t have a job
anymore. Most of my friends (Except for the super
close ones) start to avoid me because they don’t
see any benefits mixing with a ‘loser’.

I don’t have much support after that.

And they are all RIGHT.

I messed up.

Should have stick with a good job.

And all of these having nothing to do with
Internet businesses yet. I was just trying to do
my own stuff like multi-level marketing business,
printing business, marketing seminars, etc.

Like usual, things are good in the beginning
and they started to fell off apart as time goes by
without proper planning.

That is when I turned to the internet to sort out
my financial disaster.

Gosh.. Just by remembering myself in that shoe
still gives me the chill. No money left in the
bank and full of credit card debts. I can tell you
that it wasn’t fun. Don’t try this at home.

Lucky for me, Mum was there to support me
financially. I don’t know whether it’s a mother’s
instinct or she simply believes in me.

What the heck. Took it to pay off my debts first.

The sad part was… I can’t share my problem
with most people because they’ll go,

“I told you so.”

As my money keep draining out each day, I spent
more time to understand how to make money online.

You’ll think I lied if I told you what kind of
sacrifices I’ve done to learn how to make money
online.

At that time, internet broadband wasn’t even
existed yet in the area where I live.

I have rented an office at that time.

So after work (After 6.30PM), I’ll go back home
to have a quick dinner and a nice shower. That
would be about 9.00 PM. Then I’ll rushed back
to the office to learn all I can about internet
marketing and start building it. I can still remember
I was the only person in the whole office block.
Not in the office, but the WHOLE OFFICE BLOCK.

Can’t be surprised because I’ll normally be
up until 2.00 AM in the morning.

Until to a stage, the security guard of the office
block knows me personally and we became friends.

And kiss goodbye to weekends. My new best pal
for the weekends is non other than Mr. Computer.

I’ve even sneak to do my internet stuff when
working in the daytime.

And did you think I made money after all
of these sacrifices?

Nope.

I don’t get it. All of these courses that I
was reading at that time told me it was easy.

Now I can fairly assumed that these
marketers probably have never made a single
red cent online before other than selling
courses to innocent people like me.

I can’t still remember I bought a “Blaster” that
time. The membership claimed that it’ll send
my advertising message to 100,000 subscribers
from a click of a button. Wait. I think it
was 1,000,000. Geez. I can’t remember but I’m
pretty happy at 100,000 that time.

When I sleep that night after hitting the “Send”
button, I lay my eyes shut with a pleasant smile
on my face … expecting to make money by
tomorrow morning.

That was a nice feeling. The hope. Wow.

Ha. You know happen, don’t you?

NOT EVEN ONE VISITOR from that promotion.

Dammit. Why did they lie to me????? I’ve paid
my $29.95 and the salesletter says it’ll send out
to 100,000 people.

I then realized that, I was not alone. Thousands
of people paid for a ‘hope’ that can never be
achieved.

Until today, I still don’t get it why people are
still selling this kind of ‘software’ when
they know it’s not working? I guess money is
a good reason to do almost anything online for
some marketers. It’s nothing wrong … but for
God’s sake, sell something that works!

I’m just banging my head on the wall.

Failure after failure, but I would not give up.
It’s so close that I can ‘taste’ it, only in my
dream of course.

It took me at least 6 months to get my first sale.

It was tiring.

But I strived with a reason. Call it whatever you
want — an ambition, a goal, etc.

During that time, no one knows the deep s#@t I’m
in except for my mum. She’s always there for me,
morally or financially. Sometimes, she’ll be worried
about me because she’s afraid that I don’t know
what to do with my life. I tried to explain to
her but how in the world can I expect her to know
what’s an opt-in list. Thanks for hanging there
for me, Mum. You’re the best.

Dad?

It’s sad but I can’t tell Dad. Dad will always
have the thought…

“See? I told you so but you wouldn’t listen.”

Until today, Dad doesn’t really know what I do
but he’s cool now because I’ve brought in results
that he can see. House. Car. Watch. You know.

The struggle I’ve been through was not easy but
I can tell you this — it’s WORTH IT.

Am I successful? Compared to a few years
ago, yeah. Everyday, I can go to sleep with my
eyes shut with a smile on my face for a better
tomorrow. But other thant that, I think I’m
just scratching the surface only.

There are many messages I want to pass to you
from my sharing today.

You’ll read all kind of salesletters online selling to
you a “hope”. Marketers do that all of the time and I
highly recommend you to do that as well when you’re
selling something online one day (or now).

*Marketing tip: Sell the hope, not the product.

But if you’re not ready to be in a difficult situation,
don’t bother to buy it. Please don’t for the benefits
of you and the marketers.

I like to think all marketers are good people – Selling
to you products so that you can improve yourself.

But hey, you gotta think for yourself that it’s gonna
required your time and effort TO DO IT.

It’s going to require you to SACRIFICE. What are
the sacrifices? I don’t know! It could be cutting down on
your TV time everyday or lose playing with your kids.

I hate it when I need to throw in the cold water to
you like this. It just doesn’t adds up more points
for you to like me. But if I want to help you, I have
no choice do it. I’m sorry. I don’t want to sell you a
hope that cannot be achieved but hope that can come true.

If a marketer tells you to buy his course without
doing anything and you’ll make money online, I think
he’s a liar.

Lucky for him, he’ll probably get away with that
because that’s what all people want to hear. Just
like the “Blaster” I’ve bought.

So this leads me the next million-dollar question…

“What is the thing that will moves you to do this?”

A purpose.

You might know that I’ve coached hundreds of
students to make money online by now.

A student attended my internet marketing workshop
with a passion.

So I asked him, “What’s your purpose to learn
how to make money online?”

He told me that…

His mum is getting older every single day. He loves
her a lot. I can see that in his eyes when he was
sharing with me. But with his current job, there’s
no way he can be at home with her while making
money. I think he wanted to build an internet business
because of a very powerful purpose – To stay at
home with his mum and having the ability to decide
what time he’ll work. Today, he’s making money
online fulltime and quited his job.

Is that strong?

It’s MOVING.

Another story was a little bit interesting…

Let’s call this guy, A. A has a rich dad. But he’s
sick and tired of being treaten like someone who
gained respect because of his dad’s wealth.

Look, having a rich dad is a blessing. But, if
everyone is treating you nicely because of your
dad, that sucks.

There’s only one purpose why A wants to
start an online business –

And I doubt it’s because he needs money.

He has a strong purpose which is to proof to
the world that HE CHAN DO IT. He doesn’t need
his dad’s money or influence to be a successful
person. And guess what… he made money online
too. The last time I heard, he got 3 niches on
the internet now and the best part is, I think
he’s only 23 years old this year.

A, if you’re reading this, I want to tell you
that I’m very impressed with your attitude to
be on your own and proud of you.

For me, I have a purpose too. A desire to go
all out and create my own wealth.

I want to be rich, yada, yada, yada. You know,
the normal reasons why everyone in the world
is putting effort to achieve what they want.

But I think, what really DRIVES me was
“revenge”. Ok, revenge is too harsh to be used.

It’s a desire that I want to proof to those who looked
down on me that I’m not capable of becoming
successfully. I know, it sounds ‘evil’. But I don’t
think it is if you’re seeing it from my point of view.

You see, during the schooling days, I just hate
the feeling I get from the teachers and the
other students that I’ll be a loser when I grow up.

Hate it. It’s hurtful.

Heck, I can still remember one of the school teachers
doesn’t wants to answer my question.

She thinks it’s useless to answer me anyway coz
I would never catch it. And all I want was to catch
up with the smarter kids. Hey, I want to be smart too.

Then, I wanted to show my other friends who have
rich parents that I can be as good as they are.

Or should I say, the same good life that they’re
experiencing. If I don’t have rich parents, I’ll
create my own wealth. I’ll still go vacation at
places they went, drink the wine they can affort, etc.

How about Dad?

You got it. I want to proof to my Dad that I was
doing the ‘right’ thing all of this while.

There are just so many other people that I want
to proof. But I think, the most important person that
I want to proof to was… ME.

I want to proof to myself that despite my background,
I CHAN still do it.

I think that purpose is strong enough to move me
to quit my job that time.

“So, what’s your purpose?”

You have to ask yourself why you’re doing this –
trying to make money online. Trust me, without
a good motivator like a purpose, you can’t go far.

Each time you get kick dirt in your face, just
remember your purpose. Then, you’ll ‘fight’ back
the whatever obtactles that comes along your way.

I think a stronger message I want to pass to you is..

“YOU NEED TO HAVE A COMPELLING REASON TO BE
SUCCESSFUL ONLINE.”

There. You have it.

Is there any other lessons I’ve missed out?

I think there’s another one.

The internet is not bias. It doesn’t care how old
you are, where you from, what’s your academic education
level, who you mix with, what’s your race, etc. Anyone
can make money online. So I think you should take
advantage of this if you think that you have a
“weakness” in the offline world now.

I’ve spent more than an hour to write this and the
last thing I want to do is to throw a sales pitch for
you to buy my product. All I want is that you get the
lessons out of this post. But if you think you need
