Re: What Is The Trend That’s Going On?

I’m not sure whether you’ve pick it up that there’s a ‘flavor of month’ product. With a sudden, your email box is filled with promotions from many internet marketers, promoting the same stuff. Coincidence?

If you can still remember, social media was the buzz, starting with Twitter and follow up with Facebook. Or the other way round.

From nowhere, suddenly, there are so many ’super stars’ when it comes to social media. As a matter of fact, even marketers who once preached Adwords abandoned what they taught and say Facebook was the thing. Hey, Facebook sells, Adwords don’t.

Then everybody was rushing to ‘local business’ opportunity, saying how EASY it is to make money by selling to local businesses instead.

Here’s the weird part – it’s like saying this, “Oh, it’s fine if you can’t make money online dude. Just go offline because there will be suckers who might buy your idea and pay you lots of bucks to do stuff that you can’t even do it for yourself. High five!”

Let’s say if the first statement is acceptable, but there’s a second obstacle – it is not easy to get local business. Honestly, no one’s going to pay you $2K for doing stuff that do not work. Business owners are not stupid and you know what, most of them are much more experienced than you when it comes to business building. To be frank, I doubt those who taught ‘local business’ actually do local business. If you’re wondering how I know how complex local business marketing is, it’s simply because I have another company that do this stuff where we run Adwords for clients, develop CMS websites, etc.

New “flavor”? Welcome to mobile marketing. Heck, that’s not even internet marketing. Yeah, I know – it’s the NEXT THING and there are huge opportunities in it. But hey, how many opportunities can you juggle? Maybe a lot, who knows. The latest one was Mobile Monopoly.

But isn’t all of these are simply ‘hot trends’?

I suggest you to read the book called, “Acres of Diamonds”, personal development stuff. You can pick that up in Amazon or just do a search on Google.com.

As part of human behavior, it is our nature to “seek” new opportunities but not so much that we need THAT opportunity but our characteristic of not being to be left out.

In a nutshell, we don’t want to miss out the next big thing (if it did become one).

Sometimes, the opportunity is just in front of your eyes but you don’t see it. Let’s take social media and mobile marketing – what do they teach in common? Another channel to build a mailing list.

I was wondering, wouldn’t it be easy to build a mailing list by using the good ol’ methods like article marketing, Google Adwords, blogging, etc if you’ve already learned that in the past and proven to work for thousands of marketers? Yeah, I know – they don’t sound ’sexy’ but I’m more interested in knowing I have money to pay my bills than being cool.

If you want to build a mailing list, all you need is to setup a converting squeeze page with a good free offer and send targeted traffic to that page. That’s it.

People are “deceived” with simplicity. They thought it has to be more difficult than this to crack the internet wealth’s code!

The concept is easy but the tough part is knowing how to create a converting squeeze page and where you can get targeted traffic. Good news is, it won’t be tough for long if you start focusing to master these skills, rather than learning about ‘local business’. Don’t you think the marketers who sold social media, mobile marketing and all sort DID master these skills and now they are making money online?

Since we’re talking about these topics, let me share with you some tips…

How To Increase Conversion On A Squeeze Page

There are many elements that influence your conversion but if I was to choose just one, I’ll focus on the free offer. What do your website visitors are actually getting for giving their name and email address to you? An ebook? Well, that’s actually not the answer I’m looking for – the answer should be information that is valuable to them.

Where To Get Targeted Traffic

Again, so many options. The answer should the traffic source that I can get immediately and the kind of traffic that is looking for what I have to offer. This is none other than Google Adwords. Yes, it’s not free but think again… is traffic from youtube.com is free? Free if you can create the video on your own but what is the likelihood you can get traffic with your video by tomorrow?

So as you can see by now, the word ‘free’ is hard to be quantified.

Here’s the #1 rule how I use Google Adwords – I’ll always drive traffic to a squeeze page to build a list, never to a salesletter to sell.

Re: The Truth About Getting Joint Ventures

Let’s say you’re going (or about to go) through a course about how to get joint venture partners (JV). It will basically tells you that you need to have an awesome product, an amazing offer, super high converting salesletter, lucrative commission, yada, yada, yada to get JV partners.

Those are all true but most people still don’t get it – they missed the X-factor.

Re: How To Succeed With Resale Rights (while most others fail…)

Success in business, especially in the resale rights
game, comes down to one factor: Uniqueness!

If you want your marketing, and your business, to be
successful, you have to be different!

To be successful in business and marketing, you have
to set yourself apart!

You have to stick out of the crowd.

You have to get noticed!

And you can’t accomplish that by doing what everyone
else is doing.

It’s really a “mindset” that you have to adopt.
A mindset that states… “don’t care how saturated the
market appears to be, I can still stick out of the
crowd and differentiate myself.”

All I have to do is put a little thought into it…
While most people will look at the competition and
give up, the real entrepreneurs will laugh at it and
think, “I will beat them easily” and then find ways to
do just that.

If everybody else is selling the same product, offer
your customers more for their money!

More value, added incentives, whatever else you can
give them to make the product more appealing to them.
Add a valuable bonus that no one else is giving!
Say, a hot report or two that you wrote yourself,
perhaps?

It’s always better if the bonus you’re giving is not
being given by anyone else.

Just create your own unique reports! (Even if they’re just
1 to 5 pages in length. It’s the quality that matters, not quantity.)

Most people get lazy and just keep cutting the price.
If price is your only differentiating factor, someone will always
undercut you.

And that’s just bad for everyone involved.

Including the customer, because she will attach less
value to the product if she only had to pay a few
bucks for it.

It’s just a bad way to do business.

Offering a great price is one thing.

Ruining the value of the product by selling it for
pennies on the dollar is just bad business.

A better strategy is to keep the price competitive but
offer more value (instead of cutting the price too much).

Do that and they’ll buy from you.

And… if they’ve already purchased from someone else,
they may get upset about your ‘better deal’ for a bit.
But guess what… the next time they think of buying a
product, they’ll check YOUR offer first.

Because you showed them that you offer more for their
money then the other resellers.

Here’s something interesting…

If you take 100 resale rights holders of any product,
You’ll find that in most cases (if not all) only 3 to
5% of those individuals are doing well with the product.

The rest of them are either doing okay, or very poorly,
or they’re just not selling the product at all! (Strange,
but true!)

Think about that for a minute…

That means, you’re not competing with 100 resellers
anymore (as most people may have quickly assumed.
Your real competition consists of only 3 to 5 people
out of those 100 resellers!! That’s it!!

Keep in mind that this is in fact a business.

You’re not selling other people’s products.

You’re building a business that happens to involve
selling other people’s products.

Take it seriously.

And give it the attention, energy and respect that a
real business deserves, because it is a real business.
Don’t treat it like a hobby or sparetime activity.

Fortunes are being made by people using resale rights
and there’s no reason why you can’t be one of those
people.

There are 3 things that people whined about when it comes to getting started on the internet (and to make money online). And if you happen to be one of them, trust me, you will have your own excuse why I am wrong in today’s post. But look – does it really matter if I’m right or wrong? I think what matters more is you make money or not…

Stuck at The First Base – Can’t Determine a Niche Market

The funniest thing is this, the person who is stuck in determining their niche is still continuing to buy the latest widget, like a new course on how to get affiliates or some fancy video player. HELLO? I think what they need to buy is either a course about niche marketing, some super cool niche research software or a list of ready-researched niches.

Anyway, that’s just my rant. Going back to this problem, I really don’t understand what is the big fuss about selecting a niche market AT ALL. I mean, if you ask me to choose for a niche market, it’ll take me less than 5 minutes to find one*. So I think the problem is not about FINDING the niche market but committing to it.

* In Module #1 of The Chan Do Internet Success System, there’s a method I’ve taught to find a niche market (based on what people are searching for) in just a few minutes. You can listen to that if you are still stuck to come up with a good niche.

You see, it’s crazy not to get started and miss out all of the other cool stuff like how to get traffic, building a mailing, making money online and so on because you need to make sure you have the ‘right’ niche. If you want a profitable niche market, might as well get into the ‘travel’ or ‘lose weight’ market but you know you’ll not stay long there if you’re new to this game… so why mess up your head with this whole ‘profitable niche’ market selection?

Just choose one and go with it. For the sake of getting started, just pick any niche that you like! If it did not work out, at least you’ve started. Besides, how are you going to learn if you’re not ready to fail?

I Don’t Have A List

Dude – if you know you need a list to make money online, why you keep saying that rather than spend the time to start building one?

It’s like a dude saying that he can’t buy food for his family because he is poor. Duh. You’ll continue to be poor and hungry if you don’t do anything about it other than telling the world how poor you are. You might know that my main niche is the self improvement niche and you wouldn’t believe the numbers of emails I receive a day from people who tell me how frustrated their life is, how broke they are and so on. I don’t even bother to read them and it’s not because I’m such a jerk. Delete. Why? Why are you telling me about your problems instead of telling me what you’re going to do to solve your problem so that I may help if I can?

Saying I don’t have a list and hope someone would give you a list is like applying Law of Attraction asking for money from the Universe but by just sitting down, “meditation” and do nothing.

To make you feel better, I want you to know that I wasn’t born with a list too (not a surprise, right?). It took me a few months to build it. And you know what, I started building it IMMEDIATELY when it hit on me that I need a list. Hint: You already discover the ’secret’ and many still don’t. Aren’t you supposed to make full use of this information THAT YOU NEED A LIST?

Look – I’m not trying to make your life difficult or being harsh on you. I just don’t understand why people can keep on saying, “I don’t have a list” and stopped them from becoming successful making money online.

And oh, if I hear someone’s going to say, “But I don’t know how to build a list”…  go learn it somewhere. No money? I trust you can save up $30 to afford a good course. If you ask me, I’ll recommend Jimmy D. Brown’s. Grab his course, no upsell or whatsoever after purchase.

I Can’t Get JV Partners Syndrome

Poor boy/girl. Well, guess what… it’s time to WAKE UP. First, there’s a reason why you’re not getting JV partners (if you’re not getting). So it’s really a marketing fault — this couldn’t even be classified as an ‘acceptable’ excuse for not making money online.

Secondly, there’s 101 ways to get traffic. Not being able to rub shoulders with the big boys do not mean the end of the world, it’s just one small handicap.

Third, not all niches play this game. As a matter of fact, most of them don’t. This is where the 80% (or 95%) of people in our industry get it wrong – they’re just thinking how to make money online by helping others to make money online. Let’s say you’re in the “Persian cat” niche and you got an ebook to sell that teaches Persian cat owners how to take good care of their pet. Do you think there’s a marketing mastermind group going on in Vegas or whatever place to plan how to promote each other products and conquer the whole Persian cat niche? Perhaps, but I doubt it.

And finally, you’re not restricted to just one method of making money online. If you do affiliate marketing, making money from Adsense, selling leads, eBay and so on, this whole ‘excuse’ does not even apply to you. What I’m trying to say is this… if you want to stick with this excuse and argue with me, I’m going to let you win but I’ll ask you this, “So if it’s so hard, why not just try to make money online by using other models available?”

If what my rant above did describe you, then there are 2 things you can from here – you can come up with your own facts that I’m being a jerk for not being understanding or you can ponder a while to seek some truth in these 3 failing-excuses so that you can bust them, once and for all. Your choice.

Re: Video Salespage Works?

Have seen those webpage that uses videos purely to sell their products?

I know many marketers are getting huge sales by using that strategy. And if they read what I’m going to say, they’ll say this to me, “I don’t care because I’m laughing all the way to the bank with my sales, dude!”

Well, good on ya then.

But I think those who use that strategy is leaving money on the table. Why? Because not everyone appreciates watching a video and would want to waste their time watching a sales pitch!

Yeah… I know what’s going into your mind:

“If they’re not willing to watch, they’re probably not potential buyers anyway.”

That’s the single biggest mistake a marketer can do – relying on assumptions.

Just think – do you want to ‘risk’ throwing away your valuable 30 minutes and find out at the end that the offer (or the investment) is not right for you?

Dude, I rather sort my physical junk mails then wasting my time watching a sales pitch video. (By the way, I actually sort my junk mails while letting the video to play till the end ).

Secondly, there are still many people out there running on slow internet connections so literally, the marketer who just use video has just wipe off ALL of their prospects. Might as well say, “I don’t want you as my customer because you have slow internet connection.” LOL. What kind of crazy message is that for a marketing guy?

But I’ve seen sharper marketers do it this way – if the visitor exit, a salesletter comes up with an unblockable pop up.

That’s marketing with a brain, not with assumption.

Don’t get me wrong – use video, it rocks. I love it and I use it. But think of your prospects too when you’re using that (if you like to make more money.)

Re: I Don’t Buy “Hot” Products In The Market

Actually, I do buy but I just don’t buy ‘hot’ products that are affordable and sold in thousands of copies. Let me tell you why:

Imagine there’s a new course on how to get JV Partners to promote your latest gizmo by using a very easy-to-implement tactic that everyone can do if they just know this ’secret’. You read and you were so excited because it sounds full-proof. Bzzz… wrong, bucko. 5,000 other people think the same too and your JV Partner is going to be swarmed with the same approach tactic. Instead of becoming effective, it backfires because you lack of originality and you are now viewed as ‘just one of them’.

Yeah, yeah… I hear you, you’re about to say this to me, “But the market is so big and there are plenty of niches out there! You’re thinking small, Patric.”

RIGHT. That’s the same piece of advice I give to people who do niche marketing. But guess what, most of these ‘marketers’ are circling in circles… most of them just promote in the same ‘internet marketing’ niche. Heck, they just promoting each other to sell more! Why? Because the courses released are mostly about making money in the internet marketing niche. And here’s the fact – if you take away most of the gurus’ lists and brand, they would be struggling to make even $1K a month online.

Now, even if you apply it in other niches, you’re going to bump into some other fellas and that’s the fact. But that’s not bad at all because you’ll still be able to apply that tactic to get good result. The hint here is this – if you’re going to buy another hot product, use it in some obscurer niche. Then you’ll have a home run winner.
Conclusion? Think smart…. stop thinking like a herd mentality.

*BUT* if the product is not the latest fad but based on real marketing principle, then it doesn’t matter how many people are using it. That’s the different from learning a tactic and a strategy.

Here’s the difference:

Strategy: Follow others to get Twitter followers through the concept of reciprocation.
Tactic: Use a software to follow others to get followers.
