Sometimes, opinions on life. Whatever it is… I hope it’ll give you value after spending time reading it. To make sure you won’t miss any future issue, subscriber for free at www.sundayemail.com. You know– sometimes my Sunday Emails can be harsh. But come on, they’re my rants. If I want to keep everyone happy and write about the colorful rainbow, birds chirping, flowers blooming, etc then I should just opens up a nursery home and take care of children.

———————————————————–

Re: Why People Just Can’t Make It

You can easily “write” an ebook and start selling it online (or maybe put it on Amazon Kindle)… even if you’re not an expert for that topic.

It’s relatively an easy process, the method is simple – pick up 5-6 books about that particular topic and read all of them. By the time you’ve completed reading, you would probably know a little bit of that topic. Then come up with your own words and summaries of what you’ve learned and the next thing you know, you’ll have a “book” in you.

I mean, if you read a book about persuasion techniques, you’ll find almost the same content in another persuasion technique book.

Same thing with parenting and relationship information – most of the advice are the same but they’re just being explained (or taught) differently.

Of course, there will be times when you’ll discover novel content about persuasion or relationship or parenting in a book but my point here is, you can create your own information product easily with some basic research.

And everybody knows that having your own information product is the ULTIMATE key for long-term internet marketing success. I mean, just look at a dude who sells a course about how to make money from Facebook – isn’t the WAY how he’s making money is none other than selling HIS information product to you? I rest my case.

What’s wrong with most people who are trying to make long-term money online is they know how to make money online (which is to create and sell their own information products) but they are not doing that because product creation is a lot of work.

Do you know what I think is the most important skill of internet marketing that can literally guarantees you to make money?

Be really good at copywriting. Heck, if you can do that, you don’t even need traffic.

Why? Well, if you can increase conversion (assuming you’re a really good copywriter), you can just approach any guy or gal online who has an existing product with traffic and say…

“Let me increase the sales conversion of your salesletter and for any new sales increment, we’ll split 50/50. ”

Or you can write for marketers and get paid handsomely.

The problem? To become a GOOD copywriter requires a lot of hard work and it doesn’t happens overnight.

So people try to find shortcuts – they try to figure out how to make money from Black Friday, looking for a “better” product review website software sold in Clickbank, searching for Facebook loopholes and the list goes on. That’s perfect but don’t expect these to give you a BUSINESS. They’re just short-term opportunities.

What is the message of my rant here?

You can never go wrong on making money online by creating your own information product and learn how to write a good copy (or record a video) that gets people wanting to buy. THESE ARE THE 2 THINGS YOU NEED TO MASTER. What about traffic? Well, if you have a product and know it’ll convert, just use money to buy traffic!

Last but not least, don’t get my message wrongly – do continue to try to make money from Facebook or review sites and so on because they can be lucrative but make sure that you’re ALSO taking care of your future by creating your own information product.

Free to leave your comment below (I read all of them personally) if you like what you read or find value in it.

Re: What I’ve Learn About Internet Marketing

I just got back from watching Captain America: The First Avenger. Right now, I’m so looking forward to watch The Avengers movie!

Okay, BACK to internet marketing. I’ve realized that I’ve been in the internet marketing niche for almost a decade now… that’s 10 years straight. So today, I would like to take the time to share with you some short lessons I’ve learn about this business. And no, I’m not going to talk about the strategies I’ve learn that are critical for your business – build a list, create your own product, master the skill of getting traffic, etc. These are no brainers, you should already know them.

So here some lessons I can think of…

Keep Good People - Along the way, you’re going to know a lot of people in this business. And when I mean “people”, I’m referring to *anyone* – your students, customers, JV partners, outsource guys, etc.

If you train 10 people to achieve internet marketing success, maybe only 1-2 of them will come back to you to say, “thank you”.

You can have 10 JV partners but most of them will not be “reliable” – they’ll be nice with you when they need your help to promote their stuff or something. But 1-2 of them will ALWAYS be there for you, your trusted JV partners.

In the beginning, many outsource workers would do anything to get jobs from you and when they’re ‘successful’, they’ll forget who was the person who gave them their first few outsource projects to start their freelance businesses. At the same time, there will be a few of them who will always remember you and will make time to take up your jobs even if they’ll make less money.

When you found these small group of good people, you should do your best to strengthen your relationship with them. They are good people.

You Got to Change and Adapt – If you have been around, you would have noticed that Internet Marketing has ‘evolved’ a lot since the early days. Yeah, the PRINCIPLES of internet marketing are still the same (they’ll always be) but the demand from the market and prospects have changed drastically and will continue to change.

What do I mean by change? From your website design to how you do deals. From product pricing to connecting with your customers. *EVERYTHING* dude.

Earn Less But Makes More – There are just way too many opportunities on the internet for you to tap. You would make more money by working with partners or hiring other talents. Although you’ll earn less from each opportunity (since you’re ‘sharing’ your profit) but ultimately, you’ll make more because you will have more vehicles going on for you.

I mean, wake up. Affiliate marketing ALONE would probably have 20 business models you can pick. What about making money from social media, creating and selling your own products, product drop-shipping and so on? Are you going to leave out all of the opportunities? I hope not.

There Will Always Be Prospects - In my opinion, Internet Marketing niche will never “dry out”. No matter how much the market is being hammered with offers (including hype up s*^t stuff), there will always be customers. If this is not true, you wouldn’t see so many new Clickbank products continue to be released into this market and generated 6, 7 figures in sales. At the same time, there will always be the newbies market to be served. So don’t worry too much about competitors, the market is ENOUGH for everyone.

Be Careful of Lies - I’m not sure whether you’ve seen these kinds of messages before…

Marketer claims to ‘retire’ and come back again after few months with bigger promotions.

Marketer claims to make huge incomes with Clickbank and display all kinds of income screenshots – to the extend, sometimes, it even insulted our intelligence.

Marketers claim that the *latest* product being promoted is the best product but apparently, that marketer said too the same for last week’s product.

Marketer claims that Law of Attraction is the reason why he’s hugely successful with internet marketing and incidentally, he has a Law of Attraction course to ffer. Nah, this didn’t happen – I just make it up.

Keep in mind that the lies are not just for the prospects – this also include empty promises from JV partners for reciprocal promotion or paying out commission. One piece of advice… be smart when you’re dealing with “partners”.

I guess these are 5 of them that I can think of right now, can’t think much, I’ve just got back from the movie. Maybe I’ll share more in the upcoming Sunday Emails.

Free to leave your comment below (I read all of them personally) if you like what you read or find value in it.

———————————————————–

Today’s Sunday Email is about ‘waking you up’.

Recently, I saw a forum posted by a guy asking who the 5 most respected internet marketers (aka Gurus) are. Personally, I have my own list of those who I respect but when I saw the names in the post, I automatically knew why these people are following Gurus blindly.

I’m not sure whether I should say this to you because it’ll splinter your original perception on these gurus – most of them don’t know INTERNET MARKETING. They’re categorized as how successfully or respected based on how much money they make by selling their internet marketing widgets.

And here comes the drumroll…

The only thing they have is their mailing lists in the internet marketing niche. Because with that, not only that they can continue to make money here, but it gives them the leverage to joint venture with others.

Dude, wake up for a while.

How can an internet marketer’s success be categorized based on if he (or she) has a list or not? That’s bizarre.

Ponder on that fact for a few seconds… so it means that any newbie can be a guru as long as he has a huge list and can get people to buy stuff by throwing gazillion of bonuses or something? Hmm.

It’s like saying the best taste burger in town must belongs to the restaurant that has the most patrons.

Of course this rant is a little bit “expanded”. Yes, they might have some marketing skill and if they do, it’s mainly how to build a list very well (which I’ll give you an idea shortly) and selling their widgets.

You see, the fact is, they just can’t survive OUT of the internet marketing (IM) niche. They’ll say they want to go into a different niche market, build a Facebook or something, but ultimately, you’ll see them back in this niche. What’s annoying is, saying that as an excuse to sell their widgets and we supported them. It’s so obvious they’re surviving based on their IM list and IM promotion buddies. You rub my shoulder, I rub your shoulder… but who’s rubbing your shoulder?

Yes, some internet marketers do have internet businesses OUTSIDE of the internet marketing niche, that’s why they have my respect for them.

Why do I rant about this, since I build mailing list in the internet marketing niche and also do joint ventures? Hey, there’s nothing to hide that I’m marketing in the IM niche. If you don’t like that fact, I’m sorry. Then, you should subscribe to my self improvement list that has nothing to do with IM.

Going back to the reason of today’s rant, it’s because the wrong Guru idolization has to stop. It clouds your mind. Most of the time, whenever a Guru launch some stuff, it sells well because of the bonuses, joint venture promotions and all kinds of bells and whistles but the product probably doesn’t work or meet half of its claim. Why? Because slimy Gurus do not DO what are taught in the product. Gotcha.

The second reason why I wrote this post is because I want you to help you by informing you the truth of how to make money online — I’ve already spelled it out so clearly to you where the money is.

Speaking of building a list through joint ventures, you don’t need to just think of the Gurus for promotions. Let me explain in one sentence – the IM niche is SUPER huge. There are thousands of marketers out there who you can be doing JVs with; why in the world are you so fixate about one particular Guru to promote your stuff?

Yeah, I know the advantages of how it can gives you a lot of publicity, social proof and all those stuff you’ve been taught in those ebooks… but… if you must treat this Guru like a royal or something, wouldn’t it be better to just work with others who are more friendly, respectful and receptive?

To elaborate a point, I’ve just joined Safe Swaps this month and I’m already getting proposals to swap every week… without even lifting a finger. There are just so many marketers out there, wanting and willingly to work with you. By the way, don’t join if you don’t have a list to begin with you, you can’t swap if you have nothing to swap yet.

I wish I have something to sell to you related to list building. But not today, maybe some other days.

I hope today’s post shed some light about thinking again of your favourite Gurus. If you want to defend them and appear like a shining knight riding on a white horse, let me know by leaving your comment – afterall, this is the Internet with no boundaries. I promise not to take it personally.

Also, free to leave your comment below (I read all of them personally) if you like what you read or find value in it.

Re: A New Trend Of Products To Make A Lot Of Money Online

Lately in our internet marketing niche market, there are countless of new products released which gave outrageous promises.

Here’s a question for you… can you spot anything different from among the products below?

(IMPORTANT: None of those are my affiliate links. These are the examples I’ve found out of many “similar” products which I’m not endorsing. Are they good or bad? I don’t know because I never review any of time. If you buy, you buy at your own risk.)

www.profitmonarch.com
www.autoclickprofits.com
www.commission-crusher.com
www.pushbuttoncashsite.com
www.pushbuttonmoney.com

Still wondering what is the answer? The answer is this – you can’t find anything “different”. Yeah, the product could be “DIFFERENT” but they’re all the same for the following:

1. They all have a piece of software that is push button easy which can “magically generate” money from the internet into your bank account (or Paypal account, whatever).

Reality: It’s actually just another piece of software – it could be a keyword tool, submission tool, research tool or anything. Nothing to shout about.

2. After reading the entire webpage (salesletter), it still doesn’t let you know exactly what IS the software. Gone of the days where you’re buying for the software, and not just to know what it is.

Reality: They can’t tell you what the software is because if you know exactly what it does, you might already have that, get it elsewhere or it’s really not that impressive at all.

3. It has over-glorified “proof” of income (or traffic if the course is about generating massive traffic). You’ll see income screen shots after screen shots… saying how much money they’ve made money online with their systems.

Reality: What is the proof to prove that these income claims are real anyway? Big question mark. By the way, I rant about this back in 2008 – in fact, I’ve even record a video to show how you can easily make up fake videos (not just images!). If you want to watch, just click here. Well, maybe these marketers DID make such amount of money but keep in mind that these incomes could be the result of selling you their products or promotions of other stuff that have nothing to do with the methods they’re preaching to you.

4. Most of them bash the Gurus. In my opinion, this is really weird because aren’t the Gurus the good guys (and gals)? Aren’t the Gurus the one who are teaching us about internet marketing in the first place? I mean, I wouldn’t know about internet marketing if no one started teaching years ago. And didn’t they learn all of the marketing strategies from the Gurus? Hhmm.

Reality: Obviously, they know more people failed than achieve success with internet marketing. Bashing the gutus is perhaps the easiest way to build relationship with those who failed by telling them that it’s the Gurus fault for messing up their success.

5. It’s normally a 3-step process – Step 1) download software, Step 2), configure the software and Step 3) make money (or get insane free traffic). Just take a while to digest this – you can be making money online with absolutely no experience or whatever by just following these 3 simple steps and your investment is only $37? Wow. Sign me up dude.

Reality: Step 1) and Step 2) are correct but in between Step 2) to Step 3), there are probably step 2.1, step 2.2, step 2.3…….. to step 2.9.9.9.9 or something absurd.

But are the marketers to be blamed? Nope. It’s human greed because everyone wants to believe this is possible. You see, “wanting to believe” and “a fact” are two different things. Just like, there are some “ambitious” people who will sit all day long “doing” Law of Attraction and hoping that a million dollar will come knocking on their doors. It’s not The Secret of Law of Attraction’s fault… it’s just the people who want to escape the reality that laziness doesn’t brings in the money.

By the way, for the urls I’ve mentioned above… do their systems work? Honestly, I don’t know and I can’t say anything negative about them (since I never bought any of them) because that would be unfair for being judgmental. I really don’t want their fans to start leaving hate comments on my blog today. :-) But keep in mind that one of the products listed there has a 40% refund rate… that’s like almost having 1 person refund for every 2 sales. I mean, I thought 10% was high… 40%!!?? Blows me away.

I know today’s blog post will upset many people and might even enemies. If you don’t like what I said, let me know by leaving your comment. I promise not to take it personally.

Also, free to leave your comment below (I read all of them personally) if you like what you read or find value in it.

In this week’s Sunday Email, I want to share with you what I’m currently doing and some insights related to internet marketing and business.

Re: My Latest JV Partner – A Bank

I’ve partnered with a bank (no, not Clickbank, “blogging to the bank” but a real financial bank) to promote my internet marketing business.

Banner promotion displayed on the bank's official website. Click to enlarge size.

This is a form of “local business”. I’ve seen a lot of marketers teaching about how to make money with local businesses but most of them are a pile of crap and I bet that they never make (or make big) money from local businesses before. I think I’ve rant this in the past, in Sunday Email #43… extracted from it:

——————————————————————————–

Then everybody was rushing to ‘local business’ opportunity, saying how EASY it is to make money by selling to local businesses instead.

Here’s the weird part – it’s like saying this, “Oh, it’s fine if you can’t make money online dude. Just go offline because there will be suckers who might buy your idea and pay you lots of bucks to do stuff that you can’t even do it for yourself. High five!”

Let’s say if the first statement is acceptable, but there’s a second obstacle – it is not easy to get local business. Honestly, no one’s going to pay you $2K for doing stuff that do not work. Business owners are not stupid and you know what, most of them are much more experienced than you when it comes to business building. To be frank, I doubt those who taught ‘local business’ actually do local business. If you’re wondering how I know how complex local business marketing is, it’s simply because I have another company that do this stuff where we run Adwords for clients, develop CMS websites, etc.

——————————————————————————–

Today, I want to give a different perspective. Local business doesn’t means that you have to sell internet marketing/search engine marketing services to small businesses or corporations – there’s a huge consumer market in where you live. Let’s say you know how to sell an ebook or make money from Clickbank.com, do you think your neighbor knows about that too? Probably not.

Do you think your neighbor would want to know your ‘secret’? Probably yes.

I’ve seen marketers making a lot of money with seminars and speaking on stage as speakers selling stuff that they don’t even use. These are the ‘smart’ marketers who are selling the “shovels”.

Maybe you’re not cut to be a speaker and can’t organize a seminar. But I guess you can still do small classes right?

I’m my previous course, The Local Niche Secrets, I’ve shared 36 local internet businesses you can do. For instance, you can setup a website where the locals can look for dates. Your website can help them to be matched for each other and you can get paid finder’s fee. Like this site, lunchactually.com – I happened to know about the website because its founder was in our seminar. It’s ‘local’ and have local dating programs. I think it’s brilliant to differentiate itself from match.com and other generic dating sites.

Proven Way To Get More Sales

I’m referring to getting more sales whenever I mail out to my mailing list. What I’m going to tell you is going to sound really ironic because you’re my subscriber and I’m mailing to you all the time.

Here’s an old adage you’ve heard in marketing, “give more value”.

Recently, I’ve been sending real content and valuable products to my list (apparently, that means you) and the response increased. When I send out promotion to them (again, that means promoting to you), I get more sales, making more money (meaning, you buy more).

Honestly, I think it wasn’t just the content that makes the sale. It was ‘earning the right’ to sell.

If you’re not getting good sales when you’re promoting to your list, then I guess they don’t think you deserve to sell. Sorry.

Secondly, I promote. I’m sure many other marketers out there give good content too but they don’t make good income.

They lack of something – they don’t ask for the sale.

Put it this way bluntly, if you don’t sell, why do you build a list anyway? Don’t tell me you just want to help and if that’s really the truth, I respect that but I think there are plenty of ways you can help the world other than spending the time with a mailing list.

If you’re scared to sell because you don’t want to upset your subscriber, you have a mindset block dude.

What Else I’m Doing…

Creating more good content. Yeah, I know it sounds really cheesy. But you know what – I have you reading my stuff here is mainly because of content. You buy my stuff because you want good content. See my point?

At the same time, I’m spending the time to give more content to my Chan Do Internet Success System customers. Why? Isn’t it obvious? More content = more business growth.

I think the teaching of “content attracts business” is more true than ever, especially with so many scammers out there. The marketer who has the real content will ultimately remain in this business and have the lion’s share.

If you create lousy content and people bought it, it’ll just be a matter of time before your name is spread in the world wide web (aka The Internet) as rotten apples.

On another side of the coin, YOU WILL GET BAD REVIEW but the question is, do you have more good reviews or bad reviews?

I’ve learned from Mark Joyner, if you don’t have bad reviews, it means that you’re not as successful as you think because you haven’t gotten a lot of customers yet. Did I pick that up from Mark? Can remember, but I’m sure I’ve learn several good business lessons from him directly and indirectly.

If you’ve find value in what you read today, please leave a Comment or feedback? Needless to say, I will definitely appreciate it because I read all Comments personally and gotten the chance to know you at the same time.

You know– sometimes my Sunday Emails can be harsh. Cuts through like a ninja’s blade. But come on, they’re my rants. If I want to keep everyone happy and write about the colorful rainbow, birds chirping, flowers blooming, etc then I should just opens up a nursery home and take care of children.

So if you can relate to what I wrote when reading it– good because I know it had just served the purpose of helping people.

Re: Teaching Internet Marketing

I’m just back from California do Disneyland, went to Bryan Adams concert, stayed at Ranchos Valencia, visited San Diego Zoo and other stuff. Actually, I’m not technically back yet as I’m in Hong Kong right now, waiting for my transit.

So I thought this is a good time for me to write another issue of Sunday Email when my mind is still ‘relaxed’. :-) This time, I’m going to talk about how hard it is to teach internet marketing nowadays and whether you can still make money online.

If you’ve been a reader since my last blog post, you would have realized that my entire blog design has changed. Actually, my entire business model is changing – I want to be more focused and less active in internet marketing niche. I want to be like my students… working at home, making money online quietly and so on instead of being a Company. I know being ‘focused’ and ‘less active’ might sound contradictory but you’ll understand what I mean at the end of this blog post.

It’s getting harder and harder to teach people internet marketing.

You see, it’s hard to teach people the real way of internet marketing because there are so many hypes and lies out there.

Let me first pick on social media. You see, social media is a very powerful marketing tool IF it’s an extension of an established brand or a business. What do I mean? Well, if you’re Robert Kiyosaki who sold millions of copies of Rich Dad book series, then you’re going to do well with Youtube, Twitter, Facebook and other stuff. Why? Because like I said, they’re extension of marketing channels. As far as I’m concerned, I’ve never heard of any non-fiction book writer (or marketer) become well-known by JUST tweeting. Or with just Facebook. Have you?

If you’re going to argue with me how singers and entertainers become famous and rich with social media, I agree with you. But dude – ARE YOU SINGING OR IN AN ENTERTAINMENT BUSINESS? Most likely not. I rest my case.

I’ve also never met anyone who said they make 10K a month with promotion to their Twitter followers but I’ve definitely see friends who make more than 10K with a list of email subscribers.

Yes, there are courses that claim people making all sorts of money with social media. Why not you buy them all and see if you can make just 1/10 of the money they claim to make with social media. If you do, great. Let me know which course and I want to buy too. Serious.

Okay, maybe you met one or two fellas who make a bunch of money with social media. But THINK AGAIN – are you sure they made it completely with just social media and they’re not spamming (you know those irritating people who tag you n Facebook or mention your name in Twitter for no reason related to you AT ALL)?

You know what’s interesting, a friend of mine, Simon Chan who lives in LA has over 2,000 fans – for his dog. Some are ‘real’ fans, some are …. you know.

If a marketer want to cheat your money by selling you a Twitter secret course, it’s so darn easy because the entire ‘system’ can be so easily manipulated. Did you know that you can just buy Twitter followers or just pay people to get Facebook Fans for you?

You might be thinking that I’m anti-social media by now. I’m sorry to disappoint you that you got that wrong. I LOVE social media – it gets me a lot of free traffic. Even my friend, Simon Leung (yes, this is a different Simon) been doing very well with social media.

There’s a point I’m talking about this.

You see, most of the ‘push button make money’ products has to do with social media because social media happens to be the hot buzz right now.

It’s so much easier to sell the latest “Make Money With Twitter Secrets” than selling a REAL internet marketing course.

Honestly, the market is not stupid. Somehow they know that the $47 software won’t make them any real money but they’ll rather eat that hook than taking the time to learn real internet marketing.

For instance, Anik Singal will be releasing a real internet marketing course soon. For now, you can download his free 158 report which has a lot of good stuff in it. I think the information in it can be sold for $47 or worth at least that price. But would you buy it? Probably yes because you’re one of the smartest ones that are still around (that’s why you’re reading my rant ) but most people won’t! They’ll prefer to read some ridiculous salesletter that tells them they can make money online by just following 3 “amazingly simple” steps and click a few buttons. On a separate note, I do believe such ‘push button, no brainer’ system exist and if they do work, it’ll be priced for $500 or $5,000, not $47.

Then they fail. Who’s to be blamed? The marketer? Well, blame it all you want – they don’t care.

End of the day, you’re still the captain of the ship. Which means, it’s YOUR SHIP.

At the same time, people fail as well after learning real internet marketing! Of course! What are they thinking? That it’s a ‘magic pill’ or something?

Let’s just do a simple evaluation…

An engineer would probably takes 3 years of studies to get an engineering job that pays him $5K or so a month (just an estimate, have no clue how much they make).

And someone wants to master the art of making money online in just 2-3 weeks?

I’m a realist. If you want to have an internet business, the kind of asset that creates long-term income for you for the rest of the years… then you better start to get your mind to accept the fact that it’ll take time or money to do it. No money? That’s fine – give yourself 3 – 6 months (it’s realistic if you take action everyday). Got money? Awesome, then you’ll probably able to speed up your result by learning more (because you can afford to buy more education, hire a coach, etc) and hiring others to setup stuff for you.

The part that most people don’t get it is that they treat this whole internet marketing thing like a quick-rich game. Nothing to be surprised since geed is built-in in every human being. Go watch Wall Street – Money Never Sleeps starring Michael Douglas and Shia LaBeouf.

If I can part a secret to success for you, this would be it:

Start failing, but fail as fast as you can. Then get up again. The more you fail, the more you’ll learn. Good news is, internet marketing allows you to have the advantage of failing fast and cheaply. I have students with me for years and today, they are on their own successfully and profitably doing real internet marketing. There are also students with me for months and still make nothing but they continue because they also understand what the real internet marketing is.

If you want to learn the real way of internet marketing and be rewarded many times fold for your work, then you have to listen to what I teach. To do that, click here and get a copy of the home course. Trust me, you can definitely afford it (until I increase the price later on). Then you got to follow the steps and fail. Yes, fail. The only difference is, you’re going to try again because you now know that it takes ‘failing’ to become successful.

By the way, if you haven’t realized yet, the marketers who sell you their ‘make money pressing buttons’ product probably never do any of those stuff they sold– they do the real internet marketing stuff like what I teach. Isn’t that ironic? It’s not ironic, it’s called, a ‘smart’ way to make money online because only real internet marketing lasts.

So can you still make money online in the internet marketing niche?

OF COURSE.

So how are you going to make money in the internet marketing niche since you want to sell real internet marketing products as well?

Choose your customers. Don’t work with those who wants t build castles in the sky. And you won’t be worried about earning less because your ‘extra’ time will be spent to build other internet businesses.

Re: What Is The Trend That’s Going On?

I’m not sure whether you’ve pick it up that there’s a ‘flavor of month’ product. With a sudden, your email box is filled with promotions from many internet marketers, promoting the same stuff. Coincidence?

If you can still remember, social media was the buzz, starting with Twitter and follow up with Facebook. Or the other way round.

From nowhere, suddenly, there are so many ‘super stars’ when it comes to social media. As a matter of fact, even marketers who once preached Adwords abandoned what they taught and say Facebook was the thing. Hey, Facebook sells, Adwords don’t.

New “flavor”? Welcome to mobile marketing. Heck, that’s not even internet marketing. Yeah, I know – it’s the NEXT THING and there are huge opportunities in it. But hey, how many opportunities can you juggle? Maybe a lot, who knows. The latest one was Mobile Monopoly.

But isn’t all of these are simply ‘hot trends’?

I suggest you to read the book called, “Acres of Diamonds”, personal development stuff. You can pick that up in Amazon or just do a search on Google.com.

As part of human behavior, it is our nature to “seek” new opportunities but not so much that we need THAT opportunity but our characteristic of not being to be left out.

In a nutshell, we don’t want to miss out the next big thing (if it did become one).

Sometimes, the opportunity is just in front of your eyes but you don’t see it. Let’s take social media and mobile marketing – what do they teach in common? Another channel to build a mailing list.

I was wondering, wouldn’t it be easy to build a mailing list by using the good ol’ methods like article marketing, Google Adwords, blogging, etc if you’ve already learned that in the past and proven to work for thousands of marketers? Yeah, I know – they don’t sound ‘sexy’ but I’m more interested in knowing I have money to pay my bills than being cool.

If you want to build a mailing list, all you need is to setup a converting squeeze page with a good free offer and send targeted traffic to that page. That’s it.

People are “deceived” with simplicity. They thought it has to be more difficult than this to crack the internet wealth’s code!

The concept is easy but the tough part is knowing how to create a converting squeeze page and where you can get targeted traffic. Good news is, it won’t be tough for long if you start focusing to master these skills, rather than learning about ‘local business’. Don’t you think the marketers who sold social media, mobile marketing and all sort DID master these skills and now they are making money online?

Since we’re talking about these topics, let me share with you some tips…

How To Increase Conversion On A Squeeze Page

There are many elements that influence your conversion but if I was to choose just one, I’ll focus on the free offer. What do your website visitors are actually getting for giving their name and email address to you? An ebook? Well, that’s actually not the answer I’m looking for – the answer should be information that is valuable to them.

Where To Get Targeted Traffic

Again, so many options. The answer should the traffic source that I can get immediately and the kind of traffic that is looking for what I have to offer. This is none other than Google Adwords. Yes, it’s not free but think again… is traffic from youtube.com is free? Free if you can create the video on your own but what is the likelihood you can get traffic with your video by tomorrow?

So as you can see by now, the word ‘free’ is hard to be quantified.

Here’s the #1 rule how I use Google Adwords – I’ll always drive traffic to a squeeze page to build a list, never to a salesletter to sell.

Re: The 3 “Looping” Excuses For Getting Started (And Also Making Money Online)

There are 3 things that people whined about when it comes to getting started on the internet (and to make money online). And if you happen to be one of them, trust me, you will have your own excuse why I am wrong in today’s post. But look – does it really matter if I’m right or wrong? I think what matters more is you make money or not…

Stuck at The First Base – Can’t Determine a Niche Market

The funniest thing is this, the person who is stuck in determining their niche is still continuing to buy the latest widget, like a new course on how to get affiliates or some fancy video player. HELLO? I think what they need to buy is either a course about niche marketing, some super cool niche research software or a list of ready-researched niches.

Anyway, that’s just my rant. Going back to this problem, I really don’t understand what is the big fuss about selecting a niche market AT ALL. I mean, if you ask me to choose for a niche market, it’ll take me less than 5 minutes to find one*. So I think the problem is not about FINDING the niche market but committing to it.

* In Module #1 of The Chan Do Internet Success System, there’s a method I’ve taught to find a niche market (based on what people are searching for) in just a few minutes. You can listen to that if you are still stuck to come up with a good niche.

You see, it’s crazy not to get started and miss out all of the other cool stuff like how to get traffic, building a mailing, making money online and so on because you need to make sure you have the ‘right’ niche. If you want a profitable niche market, might as well get into the ‘travel’ or ‘lose weight’ market but you know you’ll not stay long there if you’re new to this game… so why mess up your head with this whole ‘profitable niche’ market selection?

Just choose one and go with it. For the sake of getting started, just pick any niche that you like! If it did not work out, at least you’ve started. Besides, how are you going to learn if you’re not ready to fail?

I Don’t Have A List

Dude – if you know you need a list to make money online, why you keep saying that rather than spend the time to start building one?

It’s like a dude saying that he can’t buy food for his family because he is poor. Duh. You’ll continue to be poor and hungry if you don’t do anything about it other than telling the world how poor you are. You might know that my main niche is the self improvement niche and you wouldn’t believe the numbers of emails I receive a day from people who tell me how frustrated their life is, how broke they are and so on. I don’t even bother to read them and it’s not because I’m such a jerk. Delete. Why? Why are you telling me about your problems instead of telling me what you’re going to do to solve your problem so that I may help if I can?

Saying I don’t have a list and hope someone would give you a list is like applying Law of Attraction asking for money from the Universe but by just sitting down, “meditation” and do nothing.

To make you feel better, I want you to know that I wasn’t born with a list too (not a surprise, right?). It took me a few months to build it. And you know what, I started building it IMMEDIATELY when it hit on me that I need a list. Hint: You already discover the ‘secret’ and many still don’t. Aren’t you supposed to make full use of this information THAT YOU NEED A LIST?

Look – I’m not trying to make your life difficult or being harsh on you. I just don’t understand why people can keep on saying, “I don’t have a list” and stopped them from becoming successful making money online.

And oh, if I hear someone’s going to say, “But I don’t know how to build a list”… go learn it somewhere. No money? I trust you can save up $30 to afford a good course. If you ask me, I’ll recommend Jimmy D. Brown’s. Grab his course, no upsell or whatsoever after purchase.

*SPECIAL OFFER*: Want to have your own list even faster, in less than 24 hours? You can advertise to my personal improvement list (if you’re in this niche or playing to go in). Click here to see it.

I Can’t Get JV Partners Syndrome

Poor boy/girl. Well, guess what… it’s time to WAKE UP. First, there’s a reason why you’re not getting JV partners (if you’re not getting). So it’s really a marketing fault — this couldn’t even be classified as an ‘acceptable’ excuse for not making money online.

Secondly, there’s 101 ways to get traffic. Not being able to rub shoulders with the big boys do not mean the end of the world, it’s just one small handicap.

Third, not all niches play this game. As a matter of fact, most of them don’t. This is where the 80% (or 95%) of people in our industry get it wrong – they’re just thinking how to make money online by helping others to make money online. Let’s say you’re in the “Persian cat” niche and you got an ebook to sell that teaches Persian cat owners how to take good care of their pet. Do you think there’s a marketing mastermind group going on in Vegas or whatever place to plan how to promote each other products and conquer the whole Persian cat niche? Perhaps, but I doubt it.

And finally, you’re not restricted to just one method of making money online. If you do affiliate marketing, making money from Adsense, selling leads, eBay and so on, this whole ‘excuse’ does not even apply to you. What I’m trying to say is this… if you want to stick with this excuse and argue with me, I’m going to let you win but I’ll ask you this, “So if it’s so hard, why not just try to make money online by using other models available?”

If what my rant above did describe you, then there are 2 things you can from here – you can come up with your own facts that I’m being a jerk for not being understanding or you can ponder a while to seek some truth in these 3 failing-excuses so that you can bust them, once and for all. Your choice.

Re: Video Salespage Works?

Have seen those webpage that uses videos purely to sell their products?

I know many marketers are getting huge sales by using that strategy. And if they read what I’m going to say, they’ll say this to me, “I don’t care because I’m laughing all the way to the bank with my sales, dude!”

Well, good on ya then.

But I think those who use that strategy is leaving money on the table. Why? Because not everyone appreciates watching a video and would want to waste their time watching a sales pitch!

Yeah… I know what’s going into your mind:

“If they’re not willing to watch, they’re probably not potential buyers anyway.”

That’s the single biggest mistake a marketer can do – relying on assumptions.

Just think – do you want to ‘risk’ throwing away your valuable 30 minutes and find out at the end that the offer (or the investment) is not right for you?

Dude, I rather sort my physical junk mails then wasting my time watching a sales pitch video. (By the way, I actually sort my junk mails while letting the video to play till the end ).

Secondly, there are still many people out there running on slow internet connections so literally, the marketer who just use video has just wipe off ALL of their prospects. Might as well say, “I don’t want you as my customer because you have slow internet connection.” LOL. What kind of crazy message is that for a marketing guy?

But I’ve seen sharper marketers do it this way – if the visitor exit, a salesletter comes up with an unblockable pop up.

That’s marketing with a brain, not with assumption.

Don’t get me wrong – use video, it rocks. I love it and I use it. But think of your prospects too when you’re using that (if you like to make more money.)

Re: I Don’t Buy “Hot” Products In The Market

Actually, I do buy but I just don’t buy ‘hot’ products that are affordable and sold in thousands of copies. Let me tell you why:

Imagine there’s a new course on how to get JV Partners to promote your latest gizmo by using a very easy-to-implement tactic that everyone can do if they just know this ‘secret’. You read and you were so excited because it sounds full-proof. Bzzz… wrong, bucko. 5,000 other people think the same too and your JV Partner is going to be swarmed with the same approach tactic. Instead of becoming effective, it backfires because you lack of originality and you are now viewed as ‘just one of them’.

Yeah, yeah… I hear you, you’re about to say this to me, “But the market is so big and there are plenty of niches out there! You’re thinking small, Patric.”

RIGHT. That’s the same piece of advice I give to people who do niche marketing. But guess what, most of these ‘marketers’ are circling in circles… most of them just promote in the same ‘internet marketing’ niche. Heck, they just promoting each other to sell more! Why? Because the courses released are mostly about making money in the internet marketing niche. And here’s the fact – if you take away most of the gurus’ lists and brand, they would be struggling to make even $1K a month online.

Now, even if you apply it in other niches, you’re going to bump into some other fellas and that’s the fact. But that’s not bad at all because you’ll still be able to apply that tactic to get good result. The hint here is this – if you’re going to buy another hot product, use it in some obscurer niche. Then you’ll have a home run winner.
Conclusion? Think smart…. stop thinking like a herd mentality.

*BUT* if the product is not the latest fad but based on real marketing principle, then it doesn’t matter how many people are using it. That’s the different from learning a tactic and a strategy.

Here’s the difference:

Strategy: Follow others to get Twitter followers through the concept of reciprocation.
Tactic: Use a software to follow others to get followers.

If you’ve find value in what you read today, please leave a Comment or feedback? Needless to say, I will definitely appreciate it because I read all Comments personally and gotten the chance to know you at the same time.
